Can somebody explain to me why this guy wasn't drafted? He was one of the better WRs in the league the past two years.

I mean, we LSU fans are up in arms that Toliver wasn't drafted, but Adams was arguably better.

There should be no debate how that. Adams was much better than TT

Tolliver and Adams are going to be quality pickups for teams IMO

after dj hall went undrafted it no longer surprises when numbers arent enough to get a player to the league. I mean, hell, he broke ozzie newsome's recieving record at bama.

Well, I really wasn't trying to start a comparison thread. I'm more looking for an explanation like....poor route running or something (I really don't know what held him back).

Was it off the field issues? Injuries?

DJ Hall had an obvious attitude problem. I don't know if that is the case with Adams (is it?).

It was just athleticism and size. He runs great routes, has great hands, and blocks well. But he's only like 180 lbs and runs a poor forty

It's not. Darvin has never caused any off-field problems

No it is not. His problem is his measurables and a lot of JUCO and Div IAA WRs came out that had similar measurables.

I think he'll make it as a FA but at worst he'll make a scout team and make some cash. He is a good guy so I hope he does well.

Gotcha. You would think teams would want a guy like him as a third or fourth option. He's a sure bet to catch the pass if he's open.

Maybe teams were concerned about his physicality?

no doubt. And i wasnt saying an attitude problem, just pointing out tht it no longer surrises me when a guy with good numbers doesnt get drafted.

Small frame and not great speed to compensate for it. That simple. He doesn't have the measurables and he was injured during the combine so he couldn't really prove himself a worthwhile investment.

He catches everything that comes his way, he does a good job of coming back to the ball (smart on field) and is a great team player. He did a very good job of getting space in college but not sure he will do that in the pros without elite speed and the lack of strength.

He will go to a team that needs him and be a solid free agent receivers out this year, I would argue he will be better than several that were drafted.

What did he injure during the combine?

ed - Never mind. I thought you meant he hurt himself during workouts or something.

Due to his smaller frame some teams were concerned about his durability, I think he'll make it on a scout team and in a pinch as a FA but I will be surprised if he makes it as a starter. I wish him the best and he did amazing things at Auburn but that doesn't always mean you'll do well at the next level.

WEAKNESSES

Lacks bulk. Can be jammed and re-routed at the line of scrimmage. Will mis-time jumps and body catch on occasion. Doesn't possess good initial quickness and burst, doesn't eat up cushions quickly, or pose much of a threat in the open field. Run blocking technique needs some work.
