in Macon---First question he took from the audience was an old fart bag ripping the running game and said he should fire Bryan McClendon(rb coach) and hire Robert Edwards---the 2 bantered back and forth for a a few minutes and Richt ended the conversation and moved on to more questions with "Well, sir, I'm sure you're a football expert, but I've been doing this for 25 years now and I know what the Hell I'm doing"

Went on to say McClendon is a helluva coach and helluva recruiter and it would be foolish to replace him

Coach definitely had a little fire in him tonight and was fun to see speak and answer Q's

Maybe that fire will convert to the regular season instead of using it against an old man. Seems like he lacked professionalism to me.

i know off season talks are there for optimism and things, but I really think there is a change in the program and you will see that attitude parlayed on the field

to answer the 2nd part, i dont think it was very unprofessional...the old guy was just attack, attack and attack...Richt was defending his coach and was cordial at first, but then it was like the dude hit the right nerve and it set him off for a second or two...same guy asked another question towards the end and there were no hard feelings between either

I listen to his call in shows sometimes and I they almost make me feel sorry for him.

"Hey coach, Cliff here, I live in the double wide down on Magnolia street with the swingset and the pontoon boat in the fron lawn. Anyway thought I'd suggest somethin.

I saw a commercial last night talkin bout the total gym. Chuck Norris Walker Texas Ranger uses it and I was just a wonderin he we might want to buy some for the boys cause they seem to get wore out by the fourth quarter. Just a thought. I'll hang up now an let you talk."

Glad to see a little SOB in Richt, but I have wondered why we have a former WR coaching RB's? Same way Richt had Kirby Smart coaching RB's when he was in Athens... WTF?

All coaches shows that take calls end up that way. Idiots love to put their "skills" on display. That's why sports talk radio is such a hit.

i'm not an old fart bag yet but if i were him instead of bitching about McClendon, who while young still could be good, I'd ask him something more proactive like where does he want to coach next

actually i'd ask what they plan on doing with B. Smith because they won't give us any details. I'd also ask if they are going to mix it up more on offense and incorporate a little more spread and maybe add a pistol set. I'm too chicken shite to call richt out to his face. in 50 years though i'll be that guy

I'm thinking about making the road trip to Athens this fall for the Mississippi State game.

Got a question for you. Do you think all of the hotels in Athens will be booked, and if so are there some places to stay that aren't to far from campus (not looking to stay in Atlanta and drive far after the game)

i doubt they are all booked for all games, let alone MSU. idk how yall travel but i guarantee you can find a place close by. there are a lot of accommodations around Athens and cities near by, seriously i doubt you'd have a problem. even somewhere on 85 and then make a 25-30 min drive to Athens if places are completely booked. but i bet there are places in Athens still.

but do not go anywhere near Atlanta. at all.

These kind of exchanges happened a lot during Nutt's Razorback Club appearances in his final year, just sayin.

Go to hogville, they probably still have the pilots # on speed dial.

Or you could hire Pork Rind Jimmy, amateur media sleuth and practice-crasher extraordinaire

Or what the possibility is that he could go ahead and have them change all the passwords in the athletics building to DanistheMan

my favorite thing from when Saban was at LSU was when he would lose patience with some numbskull calling in with a dumbass opinion

You could feel the rage building in Nicky through the radio... he never went Full Metal Jacket on anyone but every now and then he would let a comment fly like "it's amazing how many high level coaches we have with this kind of free time on their hands"
