Grant would come here if asked. I stand by what I said. But there are other coaches ahead of him on our list. Shaka Smart and Chris Mooney, not to mention Brad Stevens, got their teams to the tournament.

What kind of punishment are you looking towards the NCAA? How is the APR? Stability in the Athletic Department/Director?

These factors will weigh heavily in your coaching search. Trust me, we've experienced it...

Different people are saying different stuff on NCAA. We're definitely looking at at least one scholarship and probation, but postseason ban looks unlikely and recruiting restrictions are likely going to be attached to Pearl not new staff. APR is good. Stability in the AD-Plenty. Stability for the Athletic Director-None. The Haslam family is in charge.

Of course he would. He LOVES orange and UT has plenty of that.

Stevens's buyout would be enormous, he would be a great guy to get, but I don't see us paying a ten year contract buyout for him.

I haven't seen Lawrence Frank mentioned much around here. He is definitely a possibility if we want him. Former Nets head coach and Asst. Head Coach for the Celtics. Former UT Assistant.

Whoever takes the Tennessee job is walking into a disaster, and will have a horrible first year. You guys are going to have to hire a better recruiter than Pearl, and I just dont see that happening.

We should throw millions at the VCU, Richmond, and Belmont coaches.

Shaka has impressed me all year since we played them in the pre-season NIT. I like his style. You're right we should check him out more, but we took a chance with Bruce too when we hired him.

I agree not sold at all on Richmond or VCU's coach, however I'm afraid program is in such dire straits we r going to have to settle on someone we re not sold on.

We took a chance but I'm pretty sure he had a very good five season at Wisconsin-milwalkee as compared to just one tourney run by vcu and richmond

Exactly. Shaka is going to get a big job soon, don't see him taking a chance with UT. Donnie Jones is another Donovan assistant who I think is going to be getting big looks within a couple years.

So Frank is the leader? I've been traveling and working all day. Anyone know how this would work with his current contract with Boston?
