He is in Starkville today with his mother visiting, all signs are pointing towards him transferring to us. He just has to complete his degree at Clemson this spring.

Are we going to get to use some excuse to get him eligible to play in "11" or will he have to sit out a year.

He was a starting LB at Clemson last year and made over 100 tackles, he is using the Masoli rule, he is graduating this may and will have one year of eligibility left.

According to my sources, Maye and his mother were at MSU's practice this weekend and he really had a great time. He really clicked with our new DC Chris Wilson and my sources think we have him locked up. He just needs to complete his course work at Clemson and graduate. Then he can transfer to Mississippi State this summer.
If we land this kid he will be our starting MLB from day one.

This would be a huge and much needed addition to this year's team. He seems to be perfect for our attacking defense. We really need this guy. I haven't heard about him in a while. Great news.

Why would he want to transfer to state? is he not tired of being on crappy teams?

Maybe he wants to play in the SEC. Maybe he wants to play for a DC who will let him shine. Maybe he wants to play for someone who is short at linebacker due to two future pros graduating but has the scheme to compensate, especially with him at LB. Maybe he realizes that a 9-4 season is not actually crappy and all but a few are returning from that team.

Because state is probably one of the few top 25 teams in desperate need for LB's. Throw in the SEC and it makes sense to me

and he knows the answer. He thinks 9-4 seasons and 15 rankings are crappy.

to be fair, I thought a 10-3 season and a top 10 ranking was crappy.
