Because I am behind; I have three questions:

One are the trees actually dying?
Two Richard Condon said something about an LSU booster or someone turning in Auburn for something in Thibodeaux; what is that about?
Three why would the sec just not go to wooden bats because I think it would make the transition to the pros easier and may make for better hitters earlier in their career?

Lord I go fishing with my son for the day and trees are dying tragic but not prison sentence worthy; and more rumors surround Auburn. I am glad baseball season is upon us; I wish we just went with wooden bats.

this. from what i have heard, the bats are worse than wood. either way, if you are gonna start taking away all the pop in the bat, just switch to wood so american kids will have a better chance of making it it to the pros. And whoever said that wooden bats would be too expensive is full of shite. I played wooden bat league in college.

I'd say that the trees are a perfect analogy of the state of the auburn program at this moment in time.

this. i have a feeling there will be more changes next year. hope it doesn't change too much cuz we're recruiting for the thud.

It is expensive as hell. A good stick is $100 minnimum and actually the best bats in the league BAR NONE are made in LA by Marruci.
And wood like that isnt much of a difference than you're average wood. ITS DIFFERENT but not to the extent of your peice of shite Louisville Slugger for 45 bucks at your local sports store

Also, about the transition thing. Pretty much all ballplayers play in some sort of wooden bat league in the offseason.
The Cape Cod League would be the most well known.

at the time of the change from wood we kept hearing that broken bats cost money to replace and aluminum bats dont break much.
seems reasonable.
now we know that the aluminum bats hit the ball at dangerous speeds, and balls on the hands that used to sting and go for a weak pop to the pitcher are now hits....
so, sure, dump the aluminum..
And make the non-SEC teams use wood too when SEC teams host games; especially in the NCAA regionals.
