They must have a lot of attrition and guys that fail to get in school.

I counted 15 off-hand from 08 and 09 classes that didn't make it.

Why aren't JUCO's counted? We rarely sign them so I'm not familiar with how they are handled.

After people not making grades, test scores, other academic issues and getting home sick in fall camp we only had 21 freshmen last year when school began.

Why are numbers so hard for people to understand? You can sign 28 players a year (in the SEC, no limit in other conferences....thanks Ole Miss), but you can only enroll a max. of 25 players. If you sign 28, but only 22 make it in to school, the next year you can sign and enroll 28 and count 3 back to the previous years class. It's really not that hard to figure out.

Character isn't the problem, he just had a tainted name his first few seasons here so he had to take more grade risks than usual. Good thing is, he's already gotten 2 back from last year's class. I like to see a coach sign and place a kid, then actually get the kid back. Shows a real commitment to a recruit.

Robert Thomas is a great example of this. He was a 3* out of OK that the coaches were real high on who didn't qualify at the last minute. He redshirted last season at his juco and will have 3 to play 3 next fall for the hogs. the kid benched 500 lbs as a high school senior. 6'1 340 lbs. talk about clogging the middle.

We lost several from the 2008 class, around 11 of them.

Thanks for the answers Hog fans.

Don't even try to make this about Arkansas. EVERY school has attrition, and some years are worse than others.

They must either have a lot not qualifying or a lot who have quit or had their scholarships pulled.

Everybody wants the best 85 guys they can get. Teams like LSU, Bama, and Auburn have kids beating down their doors to play for them, so they can be very picky and still sign a very strong class. Teams like Arkansas have to take some riskier recruits to put together a strong team. Some of these guys don't make it.
