I've seen a lot of anger from LSU fans directed at Bama due to the pre-season rankings.

They typically point out that Bama will be breaking in a new starting QB.

I find this ironic because of LSU's QB situation the last few years.

Do you corndogs really think Jordan Jefferson can take you the distance?

It seems to me that you guys are pinning a lot of hopes on a guy who has had 3 (or so) good games in his career...and even in those games he didn't produce great numbers.

I think LSU's QB situation is in wait and see mode.

As long as he can manage the game and protect the ball, I don't see why not. Besides, he will have serious competition this spring which could bring out his best qualities.

Do SEC fans really not think LSU can go all the way this year?

The amount of talent on the roster should speak for itself.

maybe, maybe not

a fresh offensive with a new coordinator certainly wont hurt

if he can improve from "suck" to "not suck", we'll be in good shape. he doesnt have to be great, or good for that matter

No. He's too inconsistent. His "wonderful" performance at the Cotton Bowl doesn't highlight his inaccurate throws. His best talent is to tuck and run.

Mett will get us there. JJ will have to improve a lot to keep Mett off the field

what's so funny about that? we went 11-2 with zero passing game. You don't think Mettenberger will be at least a little better?

Interesting that 3 months ago the coaching staff was trying to make a passing QB a runner. Those idiots

Kragthorpe is a decent QBs coach. I'm not so sure that Jefferson's problems can be fixed by coaching though. Mettenberger is kind of a wild card, but I think I remember most UGA fans saying that he was a major project and all he had going for him was his arm. He might not contribute for them until next year if he has a lot of stuff to work on in terms of mechanics.

you remember wrong, no offense. The guy's pocket presence is outstanding. His mechanics are considered excellent.

mett and aaron murray were neck and neck during spring ball...it's not out of the realm of possibility that mett would have been the UGA starter this past season

Not saying he is Vince Young but VY as a junior starter at Texas threw for 1800 yds, as a senior over 3000. There are many examples of qb's improving a lot from their junior to senior seasons.

Didn't have any trouble gashing Alabama FleshEatingSalsa.

That being said, his problem is consistency. He has the tools. He's extremely effective when he rolls out and has a "feel" for the game. You listen to Gary Danielson talk about it. He can tell from the onset of a game if Jefferson has it.

If he plays like he did against ATM, GA Tech, Ole Miss, Alabama, he is very tough to beat.

he may not have beaten him.. but.. if he's as good as murray, we're set
