From Crowton to Kragthorpe? I'm starting to think that Les is the issue with your offense, not the OC.

I hope it works out like it did at Louisville.

What's your thoughts on the hire? I think Les has more to say in the offense than most LSU fans lead on.

We don't need him to be a HC

Only time will tell. If we have a top 50 offense year in and year out I will be happy.

i am going to wait until at least the Spring game to form an opinion. really won't know anything until after the first few games of the season.

i like that he runs a pro-style, run heavy offense though. plus he's good with QBs and can recruit Texas. i could give a shite about his past coaching accomplishments or failures like so many people seem to be caught up on.

Our offense got better when he started getting more involved.

He called the plays at UL as well. Not impressive. Would have hoped for TCU OC. Seems like Les wants to have the final say in your offense.

I think it's a decent hire... better than what you have anyway.

Honestly, I would have been more worried had you hired Fuente or Paul Petrino though.

Mostly anything would have been an upgrade for LSU and UF fans at the OC.

Seems like we both upgrade.

BYU fans told Oregon fans who then told LSU fans the scoop on Gary Crowton. Namely, you ill love him in year one, then make excuses for him in year two, and hate him in year three.

The guy literally has had the same MO at all three schools. Starts off like a ball of fire...the 2007 LSU offense set school records for yards gained and points scored...then falls off dramatically.

Miles gave Crowton every chance to succeed. And then allowed him to depart with dignity by seeing him off to Maryland.

The thing to watch for in the regular season is how quickly the LSU offense breaks the huddle. If the QB has plenty of time to read the defense and go through his progressions, the Tigers will do well, as seen in the Cotton Bowl.

Too often at LSU under Crowton, the Tiger offense would look like a chinese fire drill. With the QB scrambling to get the play off in time.

Pretty sure you and I could have been more innovative with our play calling.

I agree with this. Some people do better in a coordinator role over HC. He will have plenty to work with for 2011 as well. Will be interesting seeing what happens..

If Les wants his hand in the offense that's fine. He's the one who gets the credit, the blame and cashes the $4 million checks. In that case, Krag is probably as good a hire as we can make and I think what he wants to do will mesh a lot better with Les than Crowton did
