This sounds like a horrible idea. I get promoting academics, but how on earth would this work?

I didn't read the article, but I don't like it.

If they did it based on APR, it would benefit some teams in the SEC (Florida, Bama, Vandy) and severely hurt others (LSU, Auburn.

couldn't agree more.

although, one plus side is it would force a more level education across the board - but it would be terribly detailed and intricate. interesting, but not terribly feasable to develop and implement.

I didn't read it, but just the title is the dumbest fricking idea I've heard in some time. Why in the sam hill should academics be a part of what happens on the football field?

Didn't read but the idea is retarded. If the schools players are academically eligible then that should be enough.

Can you imagine seeing a dominant team but Vandy gets in with a 3 loss season because their grades are better.

This has to be written by some butt hurt guy pissed that the SEC owns that shite and is scratching and clawing at and excuse.

For example... just like saying "Auburns title isnt legit" or my favorite. "when it gets taken away...."

LSU has higher grad rate than the entire Pac-10 with Stanford and Washington being the exception.

It's cute when grown men act like they care about academics.

I bet if they did that it would probably just create more grade changing and all the the players would be taking classes similar to the sociology classes Auburn had.

Yep. Academic fraud would run rampant across the country.

this is a bunch of bullshite. IF something like this were to be added it would be done simply as a PR move, and would likely have little or no impact to the actual BCS outcomes.

CFB is all about money. you really think the powers that be are going to tolerate a huge drop in revenue by having the Stanfords and Vanderbilts of the CFB world in the big games? GMAFB.

According to this website, LSU's APR (965) is higher than Alabama's (957):

This is a great idea. It reminds us that this is a game played by student athletes.
