I ask for a reason. Going to sound odd, but I live in Houston and Gallery Furniture is running a promo for the game. Spend 5k, have it delivered before Monday 7pm, pick the winner of the game and you'll get half of your money spent back in cash. I have friends local who collected ~3k back on the super bowl last year. I've been watching a couple of sets for a few months and they haven't changed the price for this event.

So, who should I go with?

Pretty tough to bet against the War Tigers this year. I don't see a Pac10 d being able to stop what no SEC defense could. And on the other side, I see Aub's D being able to make some stops and force some turnovers.

Gotta go War Eagle

Auburn went undefeated in the SEC this year. If you believe in your team, and your conference, then you know who the obvious choice is.

FWIW Vegas gives Oregon the statistical advantage (has a slightly better chance to win), but of course that doesnt mean they will win.

Auburn's O-line outweighs, on average, the Oregon d-line by over 60 lbs per man. Cam Newton is larger than all but two of the Oregon defensive starters and is substantially larger than all of their LBs and DBs. He is probably faster than everyone on Oregon's D.

I look for Auburn to rush for 400+ yards in the game with Cam rushing for over 200 and Dyer rushing for 150.

As to Auburn's defense, they are actually good against the run. If they can stop the pass, which I think they will slow it down, they will win easily.

I think Auburn wins by a minimum of 10 points and would not be totally surprised if they beat Oregon by 4 TDs.

Look no further than the Rose Bowl last year to see how Oregon performs against a big, physical team with speed.

I hope you're right. The closer to the game we get, the more nervous I become.....

Thought Auburn was favored. Did the line flip flop?

Oregon has speed and great schemes. Auburn has size, speed and good schemes. If football were strictly about speed, then you could simply field a track and field team and win the national title. It is a man's game and being big and physical is what matters.

Look at how Saban builds a team. His linebackers look like D-linemen and his safeties look like LBs. His WR, by in large, look like power forwards.

The line has nothing to do with who they think they will win. BTW Oregon was favored when the line opened but by sunday Auburn was already favored.

I think people on this board are really underestimating Oregon, but we shall see.

The opening line I saw in Vegas had Auburn favored. And of course the line reflects who they think will win. That's why they call in odds.

You come to a SEC message board and want to know if an SEC team is going to win in a bowl game game against another conference.

Who do you think the we are going to say?

Save the money on furniture and take a logic course at your local community college.

You'll be better off.

You can look at the D or lack of D by Auburn especially in the 1st half and assume the game will be close. You can look at stats and assume that Oregon's O is better than Auburns. But my question is which offense was more impressive based the defenses they played. Oregon played 1 defense ranked better than 30th if I am not mistaken. I believe that might have been vs Cal...just something to think about.

wisconsins o-line outweighed TCUs d-line by at least 30 to 40 lbs...that really isnt that big of a factor..we saw the outcome of that..denver broncos had one of the smallest d-lines in the nfl during their superbowl run in the 90s..size helps but dont bet your bank account on that alone....this game will be a lot closer than most of you think it will...actually,i feel that the war eagles and the ducks are dam near mirror images of each other......

Doesn't really meant that's who Vegas thinks will win. Line's are only made to get even money played on a game. Vegas is only interested in making "juice" in sports gaming.

At least that's what my bookie says.

If there is one thing I know, "logic" will be challenged more here than any college course. Just look above, 5 post saying Auburn - 3 post saying Oregon.

Did you have an opinion on the game or were you just challenging my logic?
