I heard on the 2 Live Stews yesterday that Nick Saban totally re did the high school field and the locker room of the high school they are practicing at in Orlando for the Cap1 Bowl. Its the same place LSU practiced at last year. But the mind boggling thing is that it's the same high school of their 5 star commitment Hasean Clinton-Dix. Now that's a coincident isn't it. By the way he said those upgrades were done for player safety. Lol!!!

I believe Bama made similar changes to the high school facilities where they practiced last year near Pasadena....where they had no recruits.

The practice site was determined by Capital One Bowl officials, according to an Alabama official. Alabama is paying to upgrade facilities there, Saban confirmed Tuesday.

"The facilities that we have there are good facilities," Saban said. "We always try to upgrade anything that we can, especially for player safety. We said that we would work on the fields, also the locker rooms for the sake of improving them for our use, which the school will benefit from because we're not going to take them with us.

"But we did that last year. We had some work done on the (California) fields where we practiced.
Only because that's certainly a way that somebody can get injured if you don't have a quality practice field.

saban is well on his way to a second rule made in his honor. The conflict of interest is too great for this to continue. AU needs to find the highest rated player in Arizona and practice as this HS...maybe that is why Westerman is interesd all the sudden.

Player safety?
We all know how dangerous locker rooms can be. Must me all those rough edges of sheet metal from the lockers.

I wonder how many Dr. Phillips High School football players have been injured BECAUSE of the field over the last 20 years?

Painting Dr.P's locker room certainly enhances the safety for Alabama.

Come on guys, Im sure that was the only available high school within 100 miles of the area that they could practice at. Its just a coincidence bama has a 5 star recruit that goes there.

After Dee HArt changes his commitment, I am sure no one will think anything of it.

“The only thing being done at our school is rye grass seeding and top dressing of the field to fill any holes, which is standard practice when the (Florida Citrus) Bowl Committee rents any facility,” the athletics director said by e-mail. “Nothing is being done in the locker rooms. We did vacuum them, though ... maybe that will be breaking news.”

quote:

Capital One Bowl spokesman Greg Crease said Dr. Phillips High “is the field the SEC traditionally gets,” and noted that UA’s field upgrade “isn’t too much different than any other year.”

quote:

The site fee for use of the school’s facilities is paid by the bowl, not by UA.

quote:

“It doesn’t matter what the number is at either practice site,” Hogan said, “the bowl pays for it. It’s all the bowl’s responsibility. The only thing the team ever pays for is over and above what the field is that they need.”

quote:

Hogan said the only thing Alabama is doing above what the bowl normally provides is having temporary shower facilities installed for the week. UA will be charged for the rental fee, and the showers will be removed after the bowl week.

quote:

“In no way have we been asked to do anything that any other school hasn’t done at one time or another to improve the practice facility,” Hogan said. “There’s not anything that could be left behind or improve the school in any shape or form other than to have a successful practice. It’s simply a one-week practice thing to use while the team is there.”

Wouldn't want the facts to get in the way of a good story huh?

You are a tool. The bowl picks the practice site. Read a legit article about it because you look like a fool.

Nothing wrong with greasing the wheels. If Miles were in the same situation I'd want him doing the same thing.

It's assigned by the bowl committee. Its the same field LSU had for practice in the bowl last season. But keep posting without facts, you are doing your fanbase proud...

Most of us are just kidding with you guys about it but it does appear a little suspicious.

Really though, do you really think it NEVER crossed Saban's mind that sprucing up Dr. P's facilities might help him with recruiting? If there are no rules against it then go for it. Just admit the real intentions which do not include "giving out of the goodness of Alabama's hearts".
