After watching Brodie solidy himself as the worst backup QB in the NFL on Sunday, I got to wondering about each school's most recent "Top Flight" NFL QB.

I will admit to not knowing each school's recent history of QB's, so put 'em out there.

Bama - It was supposed to be Croyle
Auburn - Jason Cambell (?) - high draft pick, not a lot of success
LSU - shoulda,woulda, coulda, but wasn't Russell
Ole Miss - Eli
MSU - ??
Arkansas - Matt Jones is a WR/TE

Florida - Grossman made it to a SUper Bowl but has never been considered a great NFL QB
UT - Peyton
USC - ?? Tanneyhill should've been better
UGA - too early on Stafford; Shockley and Greene never did much****Forgot about Carter*****
UK - Tim Couch was alright for a while
Vandy - Cutler

Surely I am forgetting someone, because there is no way that the SEC has had this little success at the QB position in the pros.

Anthony Wright was on the NY Giants Super Bowl winning team a few years ago? as a 3rd stringer I think, but hey a ring is a ring

Campbell is solid at best but has been banished to lands that don't allow good lines to block for him.

Did he ever do anything more than hold FGs for the Redskins?

Richard Todd was the only guy that came to mind as actually having started meaningful games in the last 25 years.

I would have thought both Tanneyhill AND Phil Petty would have had better NFL careers than they did.

Where the hell is Blake Mitchell?

For Arkansas it's Joe Ferguson.

Arkansas has been a wasteland of QB talent. No QB that has finished their eligibility at Arkansas has been drafted to play QB in the NFL for more than 20 years.

The last Arkansas QB to play QB in the NFL was Clint Stoerner, who threw INTs on 4 straight possessions to get benched in favor of Ryan Leaf.

I think most would say it's a stretch to call David Woodley a "good Pro QB", but he did start for the Miami Dolphins in relief, and took the team to a Superbowl.

Didn't David Woodley have a decent NFL career?

This is why I find it funny when Arkansas fans bitch about the quarterbacking at Arkansas under Nutt as if ANY coach or program in the SEC has some sort of quarterbacking legacy to live up to or build upon.

Yes, but at least the other teams have histories of good collegiate QBs. We couldn't even do that in the Nutt era.
