You know how some coaches are credited with the success of people who coached under them (see Mike Holmgren NFL coaching tree).

Do Fisher and Muschamp belong to Saban's tree? Anyone else get their start or a big break under Saban who has gone on to success? Just curious.

Yes.

I've never seen coaches get elevated more than ones that coached under Saban. He's a miracle worker.

Assuming Gus gets a HC job soon, would he count toward Nutt or Chiz?

Muschamp is as much CTT's as he is Spanky's.

He worked for Tressel a while also

ETA: also, Saban is just another branch of the Belichick tree anyways.

5 seasons under Saban =/= 2 seasons under TT

I don't see why not, condiering his first job came as a result of AU. Even though he's a benedit who deserves everything bad that happens to him.

Belichick's coaching tree isn't much to write home about. Every coach in his coaching tree has tanked spectacularly except for Saban and maybe Ferentz. That tells me Belichick is nothing more than a brilliant coach that runs the whole show instead of this great evaluator of coaching talent everybody thinks he is. All of his assistants except for Saban were basically glorified errand boys who carried out the game plans Belichick laid out for them.

Three things:

1- Fisher was at LSU working for Les Miles when he was promoted.
2- "Im a man" Mike Gundy was also a coach under Les.
3- Pellini- Got the Nebraska job.

When talking about the Saban thing... how many were working for Saban when they got the job vs just worked for Saban at some point in time.
