Does Lou Holtz have hate for Auburn?
I've never seen him say anything nice about Auburn.
I've heard him refer to Auburn as "The University of Auburn", which I know irritates AU grads and a couple of weeks ago in studio, he dropped on purpose, the Auburn helmet on College Football Final.
I know that he and Tuberville exchanged verbal barbs a few years ago.
What do you guys think?

He's been flaming Auburn since the BCS standings came out.....plus he's a former USCe coach, thus the hate the past 2 weeks

everyone in the media/world hates Auburn, didn't you know this?

Lou Holtz is just old and pissed that AU beat his beloved Cocks and Hogs (to a lesser extent). He'd probably come to Auburn and try to set the town on fire if the trifecta vs the golden domers could be pulled off.

I am not sure. He certainly will hate AU this week because he always thinks ND and USCe will win no matter what. He has never picked against either. I think he is just putting on an act and gets a kick out of being a clown. I have a hard time believing that someone that had as much success as he did as a coach is really that big of an idiot and jack waggon. But who knows?

Auburn fans shouldn't put much stock into a guy that has put every school he has coached into probation when he left. He is pure entertainment.

This. He has helped put at least three schools on probation. It's funny how the media never mentions this.

Lou Holtz detests the exploitation of animals and therefore is not a fan of the sheep humpers.

I'm not sure regarding Auburn specifically.

But...he has a hard-on for every school he's coached at including USCe. So if he's talking about the SECCG, you can bet he's going to be pro-USCe.

I've never heard him say anything positive about Auburn, ever. Then I see him intentionally drop the Auburn helmet about two weeks ago on live TV. I was just curious if anyone knew why he has an axe to grind.

Maybe a hold over from Tub's comments.

"ESPN has gotten so much power lately, it's kinda scary," Tuberville said. "And most of their analysts are coaches who haven't won any games. That's why they're there. I think you know who I'm talking about.

"And Lou Holtz gets on there and talks about what a team has to do win that game, and the guy couldn't beat anybody in our conference. These guys will come talk to you and look you straight in the eye and tell you something, then they'll get on the air and say something else.

Holtz has a problem with schools whose name is "X University", always has. I recall any number of interviews from when he was coach at Arkansas where he would be talking about "The University of Rice" or "The University of Texas A&M". Which is strange, because he used to coach one of those -- the University of North Carolina State.
