But yet Bama claims 13 and only like 8 were AP

The AP didn't exist prior to 1936.

Typical Bammer. How was it like giving up 24 unanswered to your arch rival?

Certainly not as bad as Ole Miss losing to Alabama for the 7th straight year, or going 4-8. Have fun sitting home for the holidays.

Then we skull drug that LSU team including Billy Cannon in the Sugar Bowl 21-0.

i'm sure you remember that game well, just like your last SEC title in 1963

True, but it's a cool story to tell every time they show the Billy Cannon punt return.

no one evr talks about the fact that LSU would have won the title in 1959 if billy cannon wasn't stopped at the goal line in knoxville that year. i wasn't alive then obviously but a lot of people say the call was very debatable

I don't know much about other teams that year, I just know Ole Miss's only lose was to LSU 7-3 because of Cannon's return and we only gave up 21 points all year. Was TN LSU's only loss that year?

1960: Minnesota (AP & Coaches)

Minnesota lost a game that season to Purdue. Ole Miss went undefeated with one tie. 1960 is legit even if the racists (self hating white people) at the AP didn't think so.

Went for 2 in the final seconds and came up short

It would have been a tie since there were no OT rules back then

How in the hell did LSU and Ole Miss go to the Sugar Bowl that year, thats crazy.

Dunno, I have no clue how bowls picked teams back then or if their was a system used

There were very few bowls in those days, so the choices were limited. I was at LSU at that time and had a fraternity brother on the team. He said the team had no interest in a rematch with Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl, but Dietzel and AD Corbett had a agreed to the game. $$$$'s talked then, just as now.

And 1941 is a crock anyway. As far as I am concerned we have 12.

Wait ... State fans can lay claim to the '41 NC title. It's still the only SEC football title that we have won. But, at least we have been to Atlanta.

Probably didn't hurt quite as bad as losing to Jacksonville State.
