Then we skull drug that LSU team including Billy Cannon in the Sugar Bowl 21-0.

congrats on that

Like I already said though, outcome was meaningless since the NC was given before the bowl games.

Would Ole Miss have won the AP national title over Syracuse had they beaten LSU?

That team was amazing they only gave up 21 points all year and 7 of those was the famous Billy Cannon punt return they show every time LSU plays Ole Miss. LSU won that game 7-3. Then we beat them in the Sugar Bowl 21-0.

I guess football didn't start until 1936, huh?

Oh they had football all right, they just average 2-3 national champions every year

I think LSU had 3-4 "national championships" from before then that we don't recognize, as do many other schools.

Wasn't '41 the last time Mississippi State won an SEC title?

I don't give a shite who takes 1941. I don't want it

We have a much more legit claim to 1945, 1966 or 1977 than we do 1941

Most schools count their Rose Bowl wins pre-1936 as national titles though.

Why the hell would you claim that, anyways? Wouldn't it be easier to just claim 66? No one would even laugh about that.

I love how an ole miss fan is talking shite about football. Black bears were unstoppable this year!

The same thing happened to Alabama and Ole Miss in 1963. It's weird how the tie-ins worked back then...or lack thereof.

I don't know why the hell the school still claims 1941. It's stupid. I full agree with claiming the Rose Bowl teams because most of the schools that won the Rose Bowl with an undefeated team claim a National Championship for that year. There were sports writers and all that even named us Champions back then after the games. I just have no idea what the hell is up with '41

I have no idea why we at least don't count 1945. That team was a beast. It's closest game was a 28-14 victory over Georgia and it curb-stomped USC in the Rose Bowl, 34-14. USC didn't even get a first down in that game until the start of the fourth quarter.

The only reason why Army won the national title that year is...well...obvious reasons.

Because Army was given the National Championship that year. For obvious reasons. I mean, they were undefeated if I remember correctly, but I think everyone knows the biggest reason it was given to them

Tennessee claims 6 national titles, but only 2 are AP/Coaches(51,98). I have no problem with claiming 38 or 50. 40 and 67 definitely seem weak.
