Yeah, Heath Evans has direct contact with the NCAA.

His FBI buddies called him up and said despite the ongoing investigation, he is without a doubt in the clear, duhh

Can you imagine the meltdown on this forum if the NCAA comes out and clears Auburn and the Newton's entirely? It would be epic.

Yeah, because organizations love to leak the facts of an ongoing investigation. Heath Evans just has to be in the know. This whole "hater" thing is starting to kill me.

when you default to the "hater" response that is conceding that you don't have a leg to stand on.

I'm thinking he's referring to the AU in-house NCAA compliance people. As a prominent ex-AU football player I'm not doubting he does have some access to information from those in the know...
I'm starting to think a lot of the "AU is screwed" talk is gonna turn out to be a lot of wishful thinking... just saying...

Apologize to a player whose father marketed him to the highest bidder? I don't think so. Yea, yea, I know Cecil said Cam was not aware but I call BS on that notion considering Cam's checkered past.

And because the vast majority of the investigation is being conducted out of the New Orleans bureau

If by epic you mean Auburn fans coming out of the woodwork beating their chests and no one else really caring then yes, epic.

It doesn't even matter whether Cam actually knew or not. He's ineligible either way.

I don't know if they're screwed or not. But even if he is talking about the Auburn compliance staff, what else are they going to say? "Sorry Heath, we're fricked"?

And he's on record saying: "Money aside, whatever, goodness gracious, this is Auburn. You have a chance to be in the mix every single year. You can't say that about Mississippi State."
They were really "in the mix" last year and in the end with Tubs.

Ineligible at MSU or ineligible for collegiate athletics period?

He is. He does.
And he is referring to what went on during a three day period last week in AU.

In this instance the NCAA compliance peeps are actually Auburn's NCAA compliance staff. The way the story has been told to me, nothing that has been released is new to the NCAA, the SEC, Auburn or MSU. The only question in our compliance dept eyes is if Cam Newton will be ruled ineligible. They feel good about him being eligible based on past NCAA cases but Cecil Newtons involvement with Rogers, Bell and Bond is the one and only issue our compliance people are worried about.

Yeah, Gene Marsh and Marie Robbins were quite confident that Bama would come off quite well and receive much lighter penalties for the Means case. How did that work out?
BTW-Auburn has retained Marsh as their counsel for NewtonGate...

Point taken... why I prefaced my post with "FWIW"... I guess I just don't see AU knowingly playing an ineligible or even a likely ineligible player unless it has a strong case that he is eligible. I just don't see the powers that be allowing that to take place... Just my opinion.

Give the process a chance to work. There will be no winners in this ordeal. That really is a sad thought regardless of how most here feel.

i thought the second alleged tape had Cam admitting he knew about his dad's retirement fund.
