Speaking during his weekly media appearance on Monday, Dooley offered a 2-minute-long description of the confusion caused by the surprise of the Americans landing at Omaha Beach on D-Day and the Germans' slow reaction.
Dooley says right now "we're like the Germans in World War II ... like, 'Oh my God, the invasion is coming.' " Dooley added that he didn't "want the German people to get upset at me. I'm not attacking [them], but that's what happened."

Why must coaches make needlessly dramatic references? Just say what you fricking mean and don't channel your inner Winston Churchill when you're at the podium talking about collegiate athletics.
