How is this possible:

quote:

Alabama has gone 42 quarters (10-and-a-half games) without being penalized for offensive holding.

I know people will say discipline...and I agree that Bama's O-line looked good last year.

I just find it strange that we get holding calls...even when we don't hold. You'd think they'd at least get one or two of those, like every other team gets questionable calls.

I'm not sure how that's possible.

Then again, isn't the SEC home office in B'Ham?

Just sayin'.

I promise I can go back and watch those 10 and a half games and find obvious not questionable holding calls.

I watch their games and there is more holding by the gumps than others - it's just conveniently not called.

Exactly! I think holding could be called on almost every play, so how is possible that they don't even have 1 in 4 games? I'm removing my tinfoil hat now.

true but you could probably do that for a lot of the upper echelon teams as well

Yeh, I'm still pissed that they let Jamarcus Russell beat us in OT in '05 when we were the last undefeated SEC team.

If the SEC were to favor BAMA wouldnt that have been the year to do it?

But they also get called for some of them.

This is why Bama has such a great running game. Don't think for a second that Saban isn't noticing the fact that his team never gets flagged for holding. I mean, it's a penalty a ref can call on every down if he wants to, and you're trying to tell me they haven't held ONCE in the past 10 games? Yeah right.

Refs choosing to look the other way.

It is impossible to be any good and not get a holding call over 10.5 games.

As someone mentioned they should have at least gotten a couple of calls to go against them when it wasn't holding.

Some of the biggest bull shite ever IMO.

Holding of any kind, particularly by offensive linemen, is one of the most subjective, judgment call penalties in football. Therefore it is by far the easiest to manipulate to help or hurt a certain team. So, Alabama never gets called for it, LSU gets called for it when we don't do it, and LSU opponents never get called for it. I can't believe anyone would be surprised at this.

Makes you wonder. For a penalty that supposedly can be called on every snap, the percentages would seem to favor bias.

(b) Inside the frame of the opponent’s body (Exception: When the opponent is Alabama) (A.R. 9-3-3-VI and VII).
(c) At or below the shoulder(s) of the blocker and the opponent (Exception: When the opponent is Alabama).
(d) Apart and never in a locked position.

2. The hand(s) shall be open with the palm(s) facing the frame of the opponent or closed or cupped with the palms not facing the opponent (A.R. 9-3-3-I-IV and VI-VIII).
