NCAA Ruling

Here's to another arbitrary ruling by the NCAA that follows no obvious reason or logic.
Case and point...
Darius gets $2,000 worth of extra benefits and a 2 game suspension. Not to mention bama is on triple secret probation so you would think any player breaking rules at Bama would be dealt with in a harsher manner.
Green gets $1,000 worth of extra benefits and a 4 game suspension.
The only people this makes sense to are Bama fans and the NCAA.

Don't talk about the tide that way. Saban will strike you down

And the fact that Green lied like a politician from the very start.

Dareus didn't receive 1k in cash. He received 2k in the form of hotels, car rides, food, etc.
Pretty big difference imo. I think he got off light with his 2 game suspension though.

Alabama initiated everything with the NCAA about Dareus. The NCAA initiated everything with Georgia. Big difference and the punishments are different

Why would Bama being on probation in the past have any effect on what Dareus did? It didn't. So it should not have had any effect on his punishment

At some schools, they feign NCAA compliance. At Alabama, we live it.

There is no reason to any of their decisions in my opinion. This organization is a totala fricking joke and should be broken up in my opinion.

It would have been if Bear hadn't died in 83. The CFA would have taken it's place.

Its simple, Dareus ratted people out.

Was this point too important for the other 3-4 threads about this?

You would've done the same

The NCAA never set foot on campus during the Agentgate thing. Dareus's involvement was discovered by Alabama and Alabama acted accordingly. His honesty and forthrightness got him off with a lighter punishment.

Look, I got no dog in this fight but these players should have gotten the same punishment rather it be 2 games or 4. Giving a player a lesser punishment for accepting more gifts rather it be cash or merchandise seems wrong and grounds for appeal.
