it will be interesting to see what he does with his own recruits!

After winning the MNC at LSU in 2003 with DiNardo's recruits, he fell flat on his arse in 2004 with his own recruits and had to leave BR in shame!!

I know, but after reading Pat Ford's article that states " he was 34-6 in his first three years, while swimming in Saint Nick's vast talent pool, and has gone 17-9 since" I felt the need to regurgitate this point one more time since the press STILL won't let it go!

And don't get me started on Urban's winning with Zook's recruits!!! LOL!

It is ALL BS of course!

we know no one is upset, but it is kind of true. If Shula had won with them he would still be the coach

While I know Saban can win with his kids, I still think this could be a solid topic. Shula was a crappy coach who didn't hire a good coaching staff but people still blamed probation as Alabama's excuse.

Alabama has always continued to have talent on the field and were probably more talented than Auburn was, even for the past decade, Auburn just had better coaching with Tuberville than Bama had with Dubose/Fran/Shula.

Lance Thompson said that when he arrived at Bama the linebackers were the worst set of players he has ever seen. Now that are considered some of the best. Who should get the credit for that? Shula or Saban?

It was said of Coach Bryant that he could take his players and beat you and take your players and beat you. Developing which ever player you have is just as important and the players you get.

But talent is talent and you need that to start with, you can't forge a sword out of shite. I just made the statement that you guys just had poor coaches, not lack of talent. Wasn't flaming, just making a statement.
