"I did not accept $100,000, it is an absolutely ridiculous claim. I have completely cooperated with the investigation and answered any and all questions put to me,'' Pouncey said in the statement.

Pouncey's brother, Mike, is attending the SEC Media Days today in Hoover, Ala., and also plans to dispute the claim.

Florida received an unsigned letter from someone claiming Pouncey took money and has been looking into the issue for more than a month, school officials say.

THAT'S how all this started!? Geez, I'd be pissed if I was Pouncey. I have a friend who was being recruited a few years ago by several SEC schools. Several of them committed violations, and Arkansas sent him $50. I called the SEC office and reported it, but they didn't do anything about it, and probably thought I was joking. Mental note, from now on send letters.

Well of course he denied it. What would he do? Bust out his gold rings and say "kiss the rings bitch?"

I hope the allegation is completely unfounded though.

Wow, imagine that...accusations??? Good thing he's not wearing a UK jersey.

Double standard round here with some motherfrickers gettin on board the rumor trains.

This all smells like Kiffin - I'm gonna blame him for everything going forward!

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if Kiffin is behing everything (including the party in Miami). Everyone knows he's still pissed that USC got hammered.

$100,000 for an OL is way too much

Not for an agent who will make 20 times that if Pouncey stays in the league for 10 years.

Reminds me of former LA Governor Edwin Edwards on 60 Minutes:

[paraphrasing inaccurately]

'$100,000 is ridiculous. It was more like $230,000'

This was under Nutt, and no, he didn't end up going to Arkansas. Another juicy little tidbit about this individual, he is the person who threw the water bottle that hit an Auburn player after the Iron Bowl in 2006. I was standing next to him when he threw it.

draft position is what matters to these guys, not position on the field

So bammer ended up paying the most for his services, and he ended up on the scout team where he proceeded to assault our players from the stands! Damn gumps!

What makes you think he went to bama? I was in the stands with him, and I didn't go to either school. I was only there because I had a buddy who was a UA student.
