Les Miles = Larry Coker?

Eric Asher and Kaare Johnson just said on WIST AM 690 that Les Miles is the mirror equivalent of Larry Coker, and that LSU goes 6-6 or 7-5 this season because Miles is still the coach. Hmmmmm, interesting.

not a bad comparison all in all. i do think Coker was probably a slightly better X's and O's coach, but not as good a motivator or recruiter.

Their D would have to be as bad as it was in 2008 for them to lose 5 or 6 regular season games. Chavis isn't anything special, but they have good enough athletes on defense that he will at least make them respectable. Miles would have to make 2 or 3 "spike it" caliber mistakes for them to go 6-6.

Our defense sucked last year but we were ranked 11th nationally and haven't lost any significant players, really

I figure Coker got a NC somehow... and it obviously wasn't because he was as good a motivator as your beloved coach... so i assume it was because he knew the game of football well enough. but clearly knowing the game alone isn't enough to make you a "great" coach.
