How much improvement will Memphis make under the LSU influence? Will they beat Ole Miss on a regular basis?

1. I don't think they're playing Ole Miss anymore.
2. LSU isn't exactly beating Ole Miss on a regular basis right now.
3. Memphis can't keep the best talent at home.

Memphis will be lucky to win 3 games this year. They have no talent, and their head coaches previous job was as a running backs coach.

If Larry Porter can fend off Dooley, Saban, Nutt, and Petrino, and keep the Memphis talent in the backyard, he'll be successful. And if he can dip into Louisiana and Texas, where he's familiar, that'd help too. But that's a tall order to conquer.

I'm going to guess that he's going to have some trouble keeping the big dogs out of the SEC.

Unfortunately, if it's not basketball in Memphis, there is no way to win consistently. Occasionally you will get players Deangelo williams, but that's about it...

IF...IF can keep that talent home, he'll succeed. There is some serious homegrown talent here in Memphis.

Sure it is. There is just no way of him keeping it all at Memphis. Would a big time recruit want to stay at Memphis and play in front of 30,000 except for games when OM or State was visiting? It's just not logical to think that he can get big time talent to stay there consistently...

That's why I capitalized IF.

Yeah, it's kind of like playing AT Vandy in terms of crowd percentages

ETA: They charged us like $55.00 dollars a ticket last year. The next week was UT-Martin or somebody. That ticket was only 5 or 10 bucks. I couldn't be happier that we dropped them...

Oh give me a break. I'd say 7 out of the last 10, and owning the overall series would be regular enough. I love you Reb fans hanging your hats on a 2 game win streak. I suppose that validates your "walk of champions" or something...
