Full-back as used in college football.
Clarification: by "used" I mean giving the FB the ball in non-obvious FB situations.

We are recruiting two this year and have 2 on the roster. I think they will be used this year but I was also under the impression that Tim would be under center last year.
In 2006, we ran the spread with a good full back as the H and it worked really well. I hope we go back to it some with Brantley.

speaking of which....
Our starting FB E.J. Epperson was just quoted in saying that is was his job to be a "bowling ball full of butcher knives"
Slight alliteration aside, I found that to be a pretty awesome quote.

I really think teams should use the FB more. Not just for blocking or passes to the flats on short yardage. Im talking getting the short handoff on 1st and 10 and going up the gut for 10+.
Just dont see it much anymore.

In 2006, the FB often lead the RB around the edges or as as change up, caught a swing pass. It worked well for us. I don't think we'll send too many FB/RB dives up the middle in our offense though unless we really do switch to more under center stuff for real.

I think we have a 270lb fullback coming in this recruiting class lol.

Not true, unless you think every college football team will be running the spread in a few years. Plus there will always been short yardage situations.

LSU used FB Quinn Johnson a lot in 2008. there are still teams that run i-form with a lead-blocking fullback.

But what I mean is: it's one thing to have a player lined up behind the QB and in front of the RB and call him a FB, it is another to actually get him the ball on many touches and pound the middle of the field.
I mean using the FB, other than the obvious short yardage situations.

Im talking about using the FB run on 1st and 10 or something like 2nd and 8. The "non-obvious" FB situations.
