Everything about him screamed Saban.

I loved how genuinely excited he seemed. And knowledgeable about Tennessee's tradition.

I also loved how he unknowingly took a shot at Kiffbitch by saying that he's not a soundbite coach and saying that coaches who take shots at other coaches are clearly not focusing own his own house.

I've bought in, folks.

Dooley for president.

Darth Dooley was a very good hire, IMO. He's going to do things the right way and build something the Vols can be proud of. He's going to need some time to do it, though.

LOL right well coached is more like it. Nothing wrong with telling the people what they want to hear.

Best of luck.

If he does well you might be fighting for your lives to keep him in several years.

Dooley is an adult, unlike the previous fella. Solid in every area. Not spectacular, but Tennessee needs something stable after being Kiffinized. How the hell you people ever bought into Kiffins BS I have no clue.

glad you're happy. bottom line. not every hire is a Saban hire... at least on the SURFACE. sometimes you hire someone like Gene Stallings and they WHIP AN arse for you.

good luck to you until we meet up. then you can die!

Spent 6 and a half years with Saban.

Even his gesticulations and phraseology were Saban down pat.

Bama fans, you have the best coach in the USA you better get used to people being compared to him, especially if they learned under him.

I said the same in another thread.

Very Sabanesque - lots of "process, buy in, system, discipline, focus" even an "a'ight" or two thrown in.

He's cute, too.

You can say whatever you want and be happy on the outside...but the bottom line is Dooley was about Plan J for Tennessee...he doesn't have the credentials you look for in an SEC coach (but neither did Kiffin). So its nice that you are happy but don't act like he is more than what he is...a mediocre coach who people assume is going to improve.

what has dooley done at the collegiate level. I think this keeps tennessee in the middle of the pack in the SEC. At least they got a coach.
