Billy Gonzales and Charlie Strong. I don't think we'll miss BG much though. He didn't do very well this year plus he's an a-hole.

I wonder if these assistants can sense the imminent return back to reality for the UF program. Its been cruising at a pretty high level with Tebow and others on D for some time, and in CFB its nearly impossible to maintain that stride for more than a few years. I'm betting these guys are moving on while they are still seen as being valuable coaches on a championship caliber team, instead of waiting until they are thought of as rats abandoning a sinking ship...you know striking while the iron is hot and all that.

I never said he was a bad coach. I just really like the guy we've replaced him with and I think he's going to be good. The only reason I said he was an a-hole is because that's what I've heard from people he's coached.

you can keep wishing. Regarding the coaches, Strong has been waiting for the right head coaching job and finally got it, he would of left 3 years ago if he could of got the job then. So to answer your original question, UF has really lost 1 assistant.

What would that be exactly?

I don't think UF is sliding back to pre-Spurrier days ever again. Too much money. Too much interest. Too many fans that care.

After the way Alabama tore you guys a new a-hole, I don't think you are going to miss Coach Strong either

We've had an a-hole as a HC, and that turned out OK...so we're good.

yeah I think Strong has been a great person for UF but I always thought he has always been a pretty overrated DC for as much talent as he works with. He uses some pretty basic schemes and does some shite with our DBs that piss me off in games.

I believe Coach Strong is an excellent coach, but I also believe that coaches, especially assistant coaches should move to new locations every 6-7 years.

I wouldn't necessarily say that turned out well. He abandoned your team for the NFL, then decided to return to one of your rivals. Now he's built one of the best football teams in the nation.

I couldn't disagree more with the poster that said BG is an a-hole. I've met him personally and he's a good guy. All the player's love him and he's a great recruiter. He was not only a friend to the player's off the field, but a great coach on the field. He was a great pickup for LSU no doubt.

On the other hand, Florida fought fire with fire on this one and went out and got a very hard working, successful WR coach. He hasn't proven anything yet at Florida, but before long, he'll be a good one.

CS is gone, but we will have to figure out who he's replaced with before I can comment on him. CS has deserved this opportunity for a long time. He earned it years ago.

I'm not sure what that means either. What is our reality? Are you saying the past 20+ years have been a fluke? I know we had a hiccup with Zook, but even that failure resulted in 5 loss seasons, I am sure most schools wish their low point in the past 30 years was a 5 loss season.

Not a fluke at all, but you won't be nearly as good without Tebow. I mean, look how much your team missed Mullen and Harvin. Another good assistant, and a coordinator gone along with Tebow Christ. "Reality" for you will be 2-3 loss seasons along with the rest of the SEC. Not saying you're going to suck by any means, you're right, you've got too much in-state talent, money and interest. But, to say that youre going to be a BETTER team without Strong and Tebow is just silly.

"CUM" stands for Coach Urban Meyer!

I'll bet that cum was the pet name that Tebow gave him...
