I think you see that a lot of places. It is kinda like a family thing. You can pick on your brother and beat him up because he is your brother. But let some kid from down the street or at school say or do something to him and you are gonna be kicking the shite outta that kid for messing with your brother.

I think we do that here to. If you go to the More Sports Board and someone from outside the conference attacks one of our teams some people will take up for them.

I have told the story before that when I was in the Army I was stationed in Texas and Auburn beat the shite out of Texas and I think it was '87. I had been so sick of hearing the Texas bullshite that I had my mother mail me an Auburn shirt and I wore it out to a bar and got my arse whipped by some Texas fans and it was one of the best arse whippings I ever took. They kicked my arse pretty bad but I fought about 4 of them, for Auburn no less.

Also, I told in another thread that I went to the Indy Bowl the last time we played in it and it was about 60% LSU fans there all wearing purple and gold and they pulled for BAMA like it was an LSU game. Everytime BAMA did something good the stadium would erupt.

I think the SEC is like one big dysfunctional family and it is ok for us to talk about each other but we don't want anyone else doing it.
