74 scholarship players and no depth.

Still, I think the players absolutely laid it on the line and it was not about fatigue today. It was about missed opportunities and Bama coming through when they had to.

We are predictable at times in key situations we run almost exclusively on 1st downs. Before this game it was 270 rushes on 1st down vs 77 passes. I wish we'd open up the passes some more but from what I understand the reasoning is our personel right now is not allowing the full playbook to be utilized in certain situations.

Malzahn is shite once he runs out of early scripted gimmich plays. If he gets behind on a set of downs and has a third down of more than 5 yards, his playcalling is pretty shitty.

This was the barns NCG. They got nothing to play for but the Iron Bowl. THis is their yearly measuring stick game with big brother.

All I can say is, you were unpredictable as hell the first 10 minutes of the game—and you were up 14-0. But as the game went on you became more and more ... predictable. I was shaking my head the whole second half; there was no way you were gonna with the play calling from the middle of the third quarter on. Gus jumped off his bus—why?

You're right. Apparently I forgot Alabama missed the 2 point conversion at the end.

Kinda similar to Bama during the 6 game streak huh??? Ya'll said it was just an excuse for Bama then. Guess its yalls turn to come up with excuses. I'm in no way trashing barns team today. They played their best game in 2 years. It just goes to show the importance of quality depth. Bama went several years without it and it showed on the scoreboard.

I'm not sure what has happened to you lately, but your posts are level headed and display clarity, which isn't a trait I've noticed before.

It's pretty simple really:

1. no depth, especially on defense

2. major talent deficit that will be remedied soon so that the offense can run the same plays with the same personnel instead of changing personnel groupings depending on play calls.

These two things held Auburn back a ton this year. You don't win a lot of games when you play 3 linebackers the entire game. That's what happened today and they only lost by 5.

The only thing wrong with Auburn right now is depth and talent. That will be addressed in February and then we'll be back to contending for the West again.

Alabama did what they needed today, but let's be honest: they don't look that good because Auburn isn't good on defense at all. I don't know how you keep playing close games with the talent they have at bammer.

The problem is Bama fans only want to say probation is an excuse when they are on it not when Auburn was on it during Bama's streak. I could care less the team did something to get on probation so you must live with the consequences.
