Does LSU no longer send the entire Tiger band to away games?

I talked up the Tiger band for days to my son before the game on Saturday, telling him how loud both bands would be and what a great atmosphere it would be. Then we get to the game & LSU brings what looked like less than half of the Tiger band. I've always like the LSU band, and hated to see such a small showing on one of the biggest games of the season..

because of budget cuts we didn't send the full band to any away games this year. hopefully it's just a 1 year hiatus.

Lsu can't afford it, even though fans have to pay through the nose for season tickets.

I believe they send their traveling band with a few exceptions like going down to New Orleans. They are the best band based on the head to head competitions they win. They are also in the middle of a major capital campaign to raise money for a new band room that they most desperately need.

I noticed South Carolina didn't send a "pep" band with them to Arkansas. I think Arkansas has at least a small group to every away game. I hated USCe didn't do the same. Makes the game see less...collegiate. Stupid economy.

you are correct.. it was only a pep band.. it took an all out revolt to force them to send even a pep band to Washington..

I agree 100%. LSU has the best band in the SEC, IMO. I wish they could have brought the whole group to BDS on Saturday.

Budget cuts because of the economy. Sucks.

The original plan was to send the full band to Bama. However, due to budget constraints, as well as to be able to send at least a pep band to Seattle, LSU decided on no full band road trips, with the exception of post-season play.

I hear that they are sending the full band to Atlanta next season for the UNC game. I hope that is true.

i originally thought that they would be sending the full band to all the sec away games. it sucked not being able to take them to seattle but the economy yada yada yada, it is a long trip. hope for everyones sake we arent worrying about budget cuts in anything next season

IMO they should send the entire band to ole miss and bama. If they need money, I wouldn't mind some of my $256,384 TAF donation to defray the cost of their trip

I didn't knwo any school sent the full band anywhere. Auburn used to send the full band when we would play Florida, because they would go a day early and march in the parades at Disney on Friday. Now though, the full band is 400 people. I was surprised we took as many as we did to Knoxville - maybe 200 members made that trip.
