I haven't seen much of any TN games this year. How is Jansen Jackson doing? Is he playing or redshirting?

Pretty sure he has been starting. I know he started against Florida. Don't know what he's done since then.

Every game of theirs that I've seen, he's been talked up pretty highly by the announcers.

Hes a badass. Plain and simple. He has the body of a CB and he still delivers big blows over the middle, once he puts on some weight, first rounder waiting to happen. Sucks we missed out on him, Im anxious to see if loston is better than janzen. I know loston was rated higher, but Jackson is quickly becoming a household name.

Yea I saw him knock the hell out of some South Carolina players Saturday night. The Tennessee coaches said they see him being the next Eric Berry, the announcers supported that claim. The kid looked like a beast Saturday.

Hes not muscular at all, but hes fundamentaly sound and can hit(dad is a college DB coach). Ive yet to see chad jones delvier blows over the middle that can compare to Janzen Jackson and chad jones prolly has about 20 pounds on Jackson.

From SECSports:

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JANZEN JACKSON
Defensive Back
TENNESSEE
6-0 • 180
Lake Charles, La. (Barbe HS)

• Jackson had seven solo tackles, forced a fumble and contributed two pass breakups during Tennessee’s 31-13 win over South Carolina.

• The freshman’s big hit on the game’s third play from scrimmage resulted in a Gamecock fumble that Tennessee recovered and turned into seven points just two plays later.

• The Vols capitalized on four Carolina turnovers to score 24 of their 31 points.

• Jackson has started seven of eight games this season and stands as the leading freshman on the team with 33 tackles.

Been starting most of the season for us and has been playing lights out. Best freshman that we have, should be a candidate for freshman of the year in the conference.

Too bad he'll never play for a SEC title before he leaves. Tenn will struggle next year too with a new QB and the loss of several good players off that defense!

As long as Guidry has a new job because of it and can smash new hoodrats in Ohio or tennessee than all is well.

He is still light, but he is playing well, causing fumbles and putting big hits on wr's. IMO in a year or two when he puts on some weight he will be one of our better defensive players.
