Bammer, Tennessee, or Ole Miss? We all know the story with Bammer, but many forget Tennessee claims six(who knows, Kiffy might add a moral victory national championship to make it seven), even though they only have two AP/Coaches Poll titles. Ole Miss has no official AP/Coaches poll champions. Using this logical Florida has close to five. Discuss.

IMO,if Alabama would just either drop that insane 1941 one or substitute it with similar obscure ones for '45 or '66,I wouldn't have any problem with theirs. That way Stuckey's could still sell clocks with "12" on them.

Bama easily. Even if all of our championships are supposedly made up, Bama has like 7 that are pretty much made up.

I think the problem most people have is that until Perkins came along the University didn't claim (or at least publicize) near as many titles. If you can find an old (1982 or previous) press guide or program you may be able to see which ones are claimed/publicized.

Perkins felt like he was in such a shadow taking over for Bryant. I think that in all honest Perkins felt (and rightly so) that most people saw Bear as Alabama football - heck, a lot of people still think that way. In order to try to change that perception, Perkins started playing up the pre-1961 championships to show that Bama was a winning program before Bryant came home.

Look at the shirt. Where does it mention anything prior to 1961?

I am not watching that shite. I've seen it before. They usually try to take away 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941(which is the bullshite one and SHOULD be taken away). Some try to discredit 1964, 1973, and 1978.

'25,'26, '30, and '34 were all Rose Bowl teams. '25, '30, and '34 we won them and were undefeated. In 1926 we were undefeated but tied the Rose Bowl. I want someone to explain to me exactly why an undefeated Rose Bowl team shouldn't have a claim to the National Title for that year. 1964 - Title awarded BEFORE the bowl game. Same with 1973. Not our fault that's how it was done back then. 1978 yes we lost to USC, but they lost to a worse team late in the year while we played and beat Penn State...thus we win the Title.

Bama for 1934 and 1941

But they have 10 legit ones and got shafted in 1966.

No big deal . .

because there was no such thing as a national championship back then.

IMO all pre-1936 title claims are bogus. If you finished #1 in a major poll (AP, Coaches, UPI, Harris) then you get to claim an NC. Everything else is garbage, none of this Dunkel System or People's NC, none of that.)

Under that method, Bama has 7 NCs, the 6 Bear won plus 1992.
