JPW's quote was really interesting. Saban has a committe of players of all classes to basically decide punishment.
I've never thought about that. Saban really is a genuis football coach. He might be as good or better than Nutt. I'd like to see them play a meaningful game on equal recruiting grounds

For Saban the physcology is as important as the X's and O'. That is an area where he excels to his credit. It is also part of the reason he was a failure in the NFL and is light years better in college with younger players who are both more impressionable and more willingly to listen.

I can't tell if that article is praising him for keeping selfish, lazy pieces of shite like Andre Smith in line or condemning him for being a control freak

"Identifies the leaders (Javy, gmac, Rolando in bama's case) and manipulates them." Even though that particular coach tried to put a negative spin on that. I think it really is true. Those guys all speak the Saban bible word for word and all the players on the team fall in line behind those guys...making for one well oiled, arse kicking football machine.
