"I'm not sure how the SEC figured out we get to play LSU every year," Meyer said. "We happen to get them right when they are loaded up real good with players."

Just to add to a thread previously on here. Seems like LSU isn't the only one unhappy with the permanent opponent arrangements. The last 2 times this was voted on, it won 10-2. Guess who were the 2 that voted against it both times.

if Meyer had his way he would not play anyone and continue to schedule like a pussy. probably even remove FSU from the schedule, even though they suck!

Doesn't matter what they vote. The SEC will never break up UA/TN and AU/GA.

Really, I don't feel bad for them. After all, had they not beaten us in 2006, they would have never gotten the respect needed to play Ohio State for the BCSNC...and vice versa.

When you're the two best programs in the SEC, that usually happens.

It just sucks we have to play twice this year.

As well they shouldn't.

We lost two of our traditional rivals in '92 anyway. UF and UT. AU traditionally played UGA, Florida, and Tenn every year.

Our wins against each other the past couple years have helped our case in getting to the National Championship. I dont mind it.

as long as we win the SEC championships and National championships I could care less who we beat during the regular season.

The win over them in 07 was also huge for LSU. That win and the win over VT is what got us in after WVU and OU loss. The win over UT in the SECCG didn't really do much for us that year.

However, I'd like to mix it up. It's not exactly fair for either UF or LSU.

Am I the only one who isn't unhappy about permanent SEC arrangements??

I like playing Florida every year.

It was compliment to LSU.

I bet both LSU and UF are indeed happy they play each other every year.

I'd like to see the context. I see this comment as a way of showing respect for LSU as a program.

Would you rather him say oh, thank God LSU is on our schedule cause they suck and its an easy win every year?

The only thing that pisses me off about this game is some assclown saying we should play stronger OOC games when we have to play Florida every year.

With the run both LSU and UF has had this decade, they have never met in the SECCG. I'm partially thankful for this as I share 4 SECCG tickets with a UF fan and he get's priority over me.

Would Ark have won the SECW in 06 if they had to play UF during the regular season? Would UF still win the MNC if they had to play LSU in the SECCG at the end of that year?

Would LSU have won it in 07?

I see the argument for both sides and I agree it was definitely a compliment from Meyer and I took that way. I just wanted to put this up here since we had the long thread recently about permanent opponents.

One of the most intriguing games never to be played. We'll never know.

Maybe the UF/LSU series has made both programs stronger.

so lets not break up UAT/UT and AU/UGA...we switch with Ark or Ole Miss and we play either South C or KY ever year....it is not fair and especially this year when UAT plays no one but LSU

I would like the SEC to cut down on non-conference opponents and play everyone in conference. Eliminate the SEC Championship game.
