Why is Starkville called StarkVegas?

Because it starts with a T and is a town. The vegas at the end is alot different

I blame it on Webb Wilder. First time I heard the term he was referring to Nashville as NashVegas.

Because for the longest time the only place where there was anything (shopping, restaraunts, hotels, etc.) was on Hwy 12. Someone called it the Starkville version of the Strip in Las Vegas...therefore Starkvegas.

Any ville town can be renamed to Vegas. Starkvegas, Nashvegas, Knoxvegas. Hell even little bitty Odenville in Alabama could be called Odenvegas if you wanted to.
