Just got signed up on Tigerdroppings, so this is my first post. Look forward to talking football with everyone!
I'm a huge Vols fan and i'm extremely pumped about the Heisman Campaign for Eric Berry! But just curious to hear what the rest of the SEC thinks about it and his chances to even compete being a defensive player from a team that has been struggling in the recent years?

I think hes a great player that has no shot at winning the Heisman. No offense intended but if he was on a better team he would have a shot but still a long one at that

great player and if the heisman went to the best player he would have a shot at it.
The heisman is watered down and means jack shite now. It goes to the qb on the best team pretty much every year. It also has turned into a career award rather than being the best that year.

He's good and maybe deserves it. He will not win it though for one reason... Tennessee... Have to be a contender to put your players in the Heisman race.

The chances are not very good, especially when the 3 finalists from last year returned for their senior seasons. All 3 of them would have to fall on their face and Eric Berry would have to return punts and kickoffs, as well as throw, recieve, and run for TDs. Not a good chance...

At best, I think he can get an invite to the awards banquet and finish fourth! No way he can win, barring some crazy Peyton/Woodson drama circa 1997.

I couldn't have said it better. When Peyton Manning throws for more yards in 97 than danny wuerffel did in 96 and doesn't win it.

Even Charles Woodson knows he damn well didn't deserve it. The sad thing is look at him now he is just a mediocre CB and Peyton Manning has won three MVP's in the NFL.
