This time, at SCarolna from ESPN SEC blog story about one of their signees:
To make a long story short, Jeffrey took his visits to South Carolina and Tennessee, and the Trojans never quit recruiting him.
"He tried his best to talk me out of it, but my mind was made up," said Jeffrey, who still refers to Carroll as "Pete."
Kiffin was equally dogged. But when it was obvious that Jeffrey wasn't going to Tennessee, Kiffin took off the gloves.
According to Jeffrey and Wilson, Kiffin told Jeffrey that if he chose the Gamecocks, he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who had gone to South Carolina.
Jeffrey was doing his best to stay awake at that point, but that comment from Kiffin woke him up. He clearly hasn't forgotten it, either.
"He said it, but it's not worth talking about," Jeffrey said.

If Kiffin keeps acting like a moron, he is the one who is going to be pumping gas for the rest of his life.

Kiffin has some other pumping in mind, only he'll have to be on all fours.

all i can say is that Kiffin better be one HELL of an X's and O's coach... and i'll say one thing about the UT recruits/players from here out... if Fulmer had ANY sort of principles or good sportsman ship philosophies ingrained in the players' minds, then it's all going to be out the window from now on. that new coach is instilling playing dirty like it's goin out of STYLE.

here's the link to the article
ESPN blog
I must say everytime another Kiffin story breaks out on the rant, I feel it must not be true. Surely he is not that stupid, and then I read the article and sure enough it is true! I seriously wonder how the average, rational, Vol fan feels about their new head coach!

There is no way this can end well for the vollies.
A) he can't coach a lick and gets tarred and feathered in Cocksville on the way out of town.
B) he finds a way to win with "his type" of player and they end up on probation for cheating or losing way too many kids to the legal system (Fulmer Cups galore).
I think A happens first but we get a tad of B mixed in before he goes.
Has anyone made a solid argument as to why he was hired in the first place?
Successful head coach in HS? NOPE
Successful head coach in College? NOPE
Successful head coach in the NFL? NOPE
Knows NCAA recruiting rules? NOPE
Understands the SEC? NOPE
Takes shirt off in front of high school kids and yells wild boys like he's in parachute pants at a Duran Duran concert? YEP
That must be it. Wild boys, wild boys.
I am still scratching my head over this one.

I think this guy is trying instill himself in a SPurrier type way, but it is looking like he is not smart enough to pull it off. I would not be surprised if he ends up in the crosshairs of the NCAA as well. Kind of like taunting your neighbors about your supposed riches in front of the IRS.

isn't there a dead period right before signing day?
"As Southern California's Pete Carroll and Tennessee's Lane Kiffin, along with their assistants, did their best to make a final pitch to Jeffrey in the wee hours of that morning, Jeffrey made sure their conversations were on speaker phone. Mack was sitting there listening, too."

Kiffin : Football coaching :: Noel Gallagher : Rock history
He'll be good, but he'll never live up to all the shite-talk he's spewing.

He better be the best coach ever to back-up all the smack.
I remember the time when coaches spoke well of the other team even when they knew they were going to beat the hell out of them.
Seems like kiffen has been watching too much wrestling....
bama, fle, now sc... who else is left to piss off??

The best part is Duce Staley is a daily co-host of the popular radio show on Gamecock radio here in SC.. and I guarantee Duce will have a few choice words for Kiffin.
