"Under Chizik in 2004, the Tigers allowed a national-low 11.3 points per game en route to an unbeaten season.

Chizik then left for Texas. He spent two seasons as Mack Brown's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator, helping the Longhorns to the 2005 national championship."

Maybe Auburn figures they can provide better environment than Iowa State for his success??

Being a good defensive coach does not necessarily translate to being a good head coach. See: Ed Orgeron.

Also see GC - Iowa State.

We want to double check and make sure though so we just hired him.

Good point.

I feel bad for Auburn. I mean, we hired a loser too, but at least it was a loser with some recruiting experience and a genius for a dad.
