This has been a well played team and they are creating their opportunities in their games. If they don't win it this year, it will be a disappointment. 5th year senior QB, very good defense, and they manage the intangibles well (special teams, penalities)

Everything kind of fell into place for Bama this year. And they took advantage of it. Not taking anything away from them at all, but AU goes to the spread and fails, we kick off our starting QB and now have a freshman starting along with boneheaded defensive coordinators. It's looking like their year.

I still think JPW is the key to the success. I am very, very interested to see how Bama looks next year. Will they suffer the same growing pains with a young QB like we are right now?

Bama would have to have a complete meltdown from here on out for this to be a disappointing season. We're definitely ahead of schedule this year.

I give Bama credit for having Saban (a real head coach).

Jerk or egotistical whatever -- Saban is the best coach in college football. His players play better week after week and learn the game. There's a strong defense and the offense need only be average.

I thought Alabama was another year or two from being a top 5 program. Props to them (and Saban) for doing the turnaround so fast.

Miles first few years were with Saban's talent base. Now that it's gone we see how the team is doing. Big screw up was RP as our QB -- Miles only recruit that year he was obviously a head case.

Real disturbing is our defensive secondary.

Alabama will win a NC or two within the next decade. LSU will be a 2nd tier SEC team until everyone realizes Miles was a Mike Archer and he gets the boot.

I just wanted to note a couple of things:

AU and UT are aweful. After today, you could say LSU is the 3rd biggest disappointment in the SEC this year (best win was against a bad AU team and the two good teams they have played they have been crushed by).

What do all three have in common? First year qb.

Three best teams - UF, Bama, UGA. Common thread - experienced qb.

Bottom line, an experienced qb is absolutely critical in the SEC.

Do you honestly believe this? Yes, our secondary sucks. Hopefully our coach will hire a new DC for next year.

But with the recruits we have and are getting, how can you think we will become a 2nd tier program?

Good God people- let the Saban shite go. It's so fricking old. Yes, Bama is good this year. Yes, we are rebuilding this year.

But if we go 9-3 with a bad defense and a redshirt freshman at QB, I think he will have done a damn good job for this year.

I never bought the "plan" for BAMA. They had some great talent there and the newbies are in positions where they can be aggressive and not have to think like they would have at other positions. Sr. QB, Sr. lines, and good special teams.

I am a diehard LSU fan. All you asswipes jumping off the bandwagon of LSU, I hope you get run over by the back wheels as it passes you by. Are there problems? Yep, but they are correctable. What I can't stand is the berating of a player by a fat arse, Madden player sitting at home that has never actually played - "I could throw better, I could punt better, etc." Give me a break.

Be proud LSU fans. This is a tough year, a year with an offense and defense adjusting to new personnel that are young. Next year will be special. Recruits will not jump ship. They understand more than a rantard eating cheetos and spending time in front of their computer every night. LSU is fine, will continue to grow and develop. Give BAMA their props, and cheer like hell that we kick their asses in Nov.

Geaux TIgers. Now I feel better. Phew

Why do I keep seeing this? Satan won the SEC in his second year at LSU? You are having a good year with a pretty cake schedule by SEC standards. You have a senior QB who has really matured. Congrats. This stuff about ahead of schedule is crazy. You better take advantage of it when you can. LSU is not going anywhere, UGA is not going anywhere, Florida is not going anywhere. This is not the 1970's anymore. Do you think you will be better next year with a 1st year starting QB?

You keep seeing this because it keeps their expectations down. Thats all. You can't give enough credit to a sr quarterback.

We will be looking back at the FL and GA games next year and look at the value. Hopefully we will learn from it like we all want and make the necessary adjustments.

What I hope for is our very young DBs and Def skill positions learn and play with greater aggressiveness and execution next year. Right now we have extremely talented players that are playing young, and it shows. RP really derailed this process a bit. Knowing we would have a young defense, it would have been nice to have an offense to run up 50 pts per game. We wouldn't be bitching.

I don't think this is the year. I think BAMA will be a great football team next year. Our defense next year will be number 1 in the nation probably. We will need a QB to step up but I think McElroy and Star will get it done. We will have a stable of running backs if we get Trent Richardson.

We thought Lee and Hatch would step up this year. You can't actually think this.

You're scoring points. Your D is what's killing you.

You will have a good D and a bunch of good backs, but the QB thing just cannot be stressed enough. Neither of those guys has taken game snaps in clutch situations.

I am trying to be as objective as possible about it too, but I see Bama taking a step back compared to this year. I haven't checked out the schedule though. Again, not taking anything away from you all but having AU, Tenn, and LSU all being down plus getting Kentucky definitely helped you guys this year.

You whooped UGA straight up. But other than that win I just don't feel like you've been tested by a really, really good team yet. I don't count Clemson.

Our D does suck- but it's more than that. When you've got a young QB they are:

1.) Mistake prone
2.) Less reliable in pressure situations

Both of these has happened this year. Lee has thrown a lot of INT's, and playing on the road as a new starting QB can be very difficult.

Agreed the D is struggling with a young secondary, but Lee has thrown 4 PICK SIXES. He handed UGA 17 points today. You think maybe the D gets a little demoralized by this?
