Going on something I read in another thread, who would you say are the big names that would be avialable for hire, at Clemson or any other HC postion that pops up?
Just to short stop all remarks, Saban does not count.

Not really that many. If you consider Lane Kiffin a big name, he is available. He was an NFL head coach, but he did get fired after a year and a half, and he was only an OC/recruiting coordinator at USC before that and is only 33. Other than him, people always assume Butch Davis could be hired away from UNC...he would definitely be a big name, but I am not sure if he is available. Bill Cowher is unemployed, but I doubt he would take a college job. Other than that I don’t see any big name, proven coaches that are available at the moment.

Bill Cowher, according to volchat on scout. Tenn have him locked up with Kiffen as OC. So you can take both of them off any list.

That's more delusional than the Rantards saying Saban was coming back last year if Miles left.
Chris Low on ESPN ranked the Tenn job as the 5th best in the SEC behind in no particular order: UF, LSU, UGA, and Bama.

Seriously, where do people come up with this stuff. I have heard Tennessee fans claim John Gruden would be interested...the same guy that is the head coach of the tampa bay buccaneers that has a super bowl ring and is in first place of his division wants to go to Tennessee, because get this his wife went there and he was a graduate assistant there. rrrriiiigggghhhtttt.

That's funny. You had people on here claiming Gruden as well when everyone though Miles was going to leave.
As for Saban coming back to LSU, from what my Dad and Uncle were saying, that had a good chance of happening if Miles did leave, though you had alot of big wigs trying to block it. The only other coach on the radar was the Jaguar coach, can't remember his name.

That's funny, my uncle said there was "no way in hell that was happening..."

I just cant see Chucky wanting to be a candidate anywhere in the SEC. If Saban frowns too much and is not always pleased to glad hand with the boosters, etc, imagine Gruden and his scowl after being called up on a Sunday talk show to discuss his playcalling. Some guys are just cut out to be in the pros, where you dont have to deal with all the political and public destractions.
