That would be a game. Ole Miss should be holding a tournament this weekend. We could compare Swag with "Fingers" Patterson.

So Ole Miss vs. a Louisiana HS team? If it was a scrimmage against another team, why not Southern Miss, or like Delta State? or if against a HS, why not South Panola? playing against a HS would be terrible though, we'd be better served playing a JUCO...

I just don't understand Freeze's thinking on this. Your second team is better than any realistic team that you would play in a Spring scrimmage and playing SEC teams is just completely out of the question.

I think he is referring to Freeze saying he is a fan of having an actual spring scrimmage against another team. And knowing that if it were to happen we wouldn't scrimmage other P5 schools it would prolly be little shitty teams that like he said our second string would be better than.

His thinking is we are injured all over the place and we have 8 OLineman
To field two teams you need two sets of offense and defense. Red and blue.
An offensive line requires 5 players.
2x5=10. > 8

So, since Ole Miss has an OL depth issue, Freeze is trying to convince the rest of the SEC to buy in when other teams don't have the same issue. I don't think he thought this one through. I honestly like the idea as a fan, but I'm partial cause I just want to see more football more often.

Freeze isn't trying to convince anyone, thats what people like you and the media turned this into. He even commented on it the next day after that quote.
He just wants to simulate a real game because our 2s aren't on the same level, and our defense has been utterly dominate in practices.
And thats basically what the spring game is a glorified practice, but he cant run it like. Normal practice where they work on certain things because it's set up like a game especially with the sec network now involved and them all being televised.
He is not pushing for a vote or referendum on the matter, it was just his opinion. And apparently it's been a slow football week so people want to evolve the statement into something its not.
Also when scrimmaging against your self the defense already knows the play calls it's not true game like situation. It's predictable. And it's also televised so you don't want to show to much lest your opponents get a preview if certain things.
I previously enjoyed competitive spring games... But thie last two years have been a waste of time, we couldn't even field teams. And no game was played. Ive been disappointed with the red and blue game. And thus won't be attending this year.
