What is so great about this facility that we can't tear it down? We could do something really special with the north end zone and it's screwing up all those efforts.

I imagine there's a lot of big money people who have some nostalgia with that building....
Other than that...the only thing I know that it's been used for is a weight room for pretty much all of our other sports. That might have changed as it's been about 4 years since I've been in there.

I was told the new Chi Psi house will be near the KA house, not in the old location. They still are about a million short to have enough to build the house. (this was as of last fall, the numbers may have changed)

It's connected to FedEx which is relatively new. I'm sure they want to preserve that as long as possible and keep Fred Smith happy.
ETA: A lot of people like to bitch about the NEZ plans. The planned addition will allow for future expansion that could resemble Boone's master plan once the administration decides it's ok to tear down Starnes/FedEx. This is purely speculation on my part.

I felt like when I had classes in Shoemaker that I was sitting in the same desk that my mom may have sat in when she was at Ole Miss. Shoemaker needs upgrades about as bad as the Turner Center does.
