Sorry you can't see the racist connotations a flag that was adopted in postbellum days by Jim Crow law proponents, various white supremacist lynch mobs including but not limited to the KKK, and the fact that the flag didn't fly over the South Carolina capitol until 1962 to directly spit in the face of the Civil Rights movement.

You do realize that not everyone fighting for the south was fighting to keep slaves, right? Robert E. Lee didn't fight for the south because he believed in slavery. He did it because he didn't want to attack his home state.
