Hard to believe how far Denzel and the nkemdiche name fell in the last year. I remember when Denzel was a freshman all-american and Robert was on his way to campus...I was in full-homer mode thinking there was going to be a 'Nkemdiche Lane' on campus after they both left

I came across this the other day looking at old depth charts and the "Defensive Star" projection for Denzel bummed me out, just with how it ended up for him at OM. He was awesome his freshman year. Basically was our defense.

He had to be. That year said way more about how bad our D and team was than how "good" he was.

We played a lot more attacking defense that season and not so much soft zone.
When the defense is attacking, first half against state and the first half against OSU, it is impressive.
When we play the soft zone, not so impressive.

It's amazing how my feelings towards Denzel took such a drastic 180. He became such a giant douche after his Freshman season. Heard it got so bad Sigma Nu bidded him up.

Denzel had a dozen tackles in the Vandy thriller this year tho. He was all over the field.
