This is when I wish they still made the NCAAF games

Playing with our offense? Damn that'd be fun. 90+ receivers across the board. 99 offense in 1-2 years. Does anyone know if they still do roster updates for the old ones? If that's the case I wouldn't mind knocking the dust off that game.

PASTAPADRE rosters were legit for the 2015 year on NCAA 14

Is there any hope of the NCAA games coming back? I see rumors every now and then but never actually looked at them.

I'm about to buy one and I'm already sad that this game does not exist.

No hope. Rumor came out after lawsuit was wrapping. They came out with statement pretty much saying it ain't happening.

Kirk Herbstreit issued a statement about it during Bowl Season.
Said he wishes it would come back and that he knows every scholarship athlete would agree.
He also proposed that each scholarship athlete should receive a free copy. Or if every scholarship athlete should receive a cut of the profits (but a free copy would be a greater value).
CPAs out there, tax write off for EA Sports?

In terms of sheer intellectual property, I wouldn't be completely surprised if the games are back by 2020 maybe haha. The lawsuit has to finalize and the NCAA has to restructure the player likeness agreements to which all NCAA scholar athletes are bound.

NCAA should just make the players fully customizable and make agreements with each the teams. Doesn't matter what the players are randomly generated as, because people with way too much time on their hand will take the time to make it all right and then just share the rosters

That's basically what the old games were. You'd have NCAA 2002, and you wouldn't have Eli, you'd have "QB #10," who (in 2002 terms at least) looked like Eli and had attributes that you would expect Eli to have. The issue is that the NCAA wasn't able to prove that these players weren't inherently based on existing people. The only way to have it work currently (not counting the O'Bannon fallout) would be to have all licensed teams on there, but not have any sort of specific players whatsoever. Basically, you'd have a bunch of grey blobs in jerseys that have 50 for every attribute, and the developer wouldn't be able to make it where you can actually recognize any of the players, but users could fix the attributes and share that roster. You just can't have player likeness in a game though.

I know, which is why you just make everything customizable and let the users do it themselves (which people would). Make everyone 5-3 110 pounds in the original rosters. The key is just making everything customizable, and let the users/game buyers do the rest
Eta: EA really couldn't just make everyone 5-3 and 110 pounds with the intent that the users just customize, but I think EA could make the players randomly generated, while leaving everything customizable. That way they can argue that people making the players similar to the real life counterparts are just incidental to the game itself

I remember the the last NCAA Baseball game had random rosters on each team. No correct numbers or anything.
Even in football, the rosters would start changing after the first season on a dynasty.
