Faulknerian Runonsentence. I have Doug Martin's handcuff in Charles Sims, who should be pretty awesome in his own right, plus your bench depth could probably use some tweaking. Who is Not Tunsils Agent?

I sent him an offer, and I have stuff in mind for Whistlin. I like to wheel and deal, especially in the preseason where value is still purely perception and old stats.

I'll shoot you an email with some of my rationale. Getting Josh Gordon is a very high priority though.

Sent a combo trade... Counter offer with something you'd be interested in if that doesn't tickle your fancy

Some dude named Calvin Johnson (or is it Megatron?) seemed to do pretty ok as a Lions receiver. The Lions brought in Lewis largely in part because they lost Megatron to retirement; he's been performing as their #1 WR most of preseason. I'm definitely not saying he's going to replace Megatron, but he should definitely get plenty of looks considering the Lions will likely throw it 600+ times this season. I also drafted him a solid 12 picks before you landed Gordon, so clearly I liked him more than Gordon yesterday haha. He doesn't have a 4 game suspension like Gordon, so that alone arguably makes him more valuable than JG12. Speaking of Gordon's suspension, I'm also willing to throw in Corey Coleman, the rookie who's actually ahead of Josh Gordon on the Browns' depth chart (Coleman 1, Gordon 2). Those are two solid receivers, one with higher value to Gordon and one with sky high early season value that can fill the Browns sized hole Gordon is leaving on your roster. They're great bench receivers because Jones could easily be a WR2/flex (especially if Alshon gets hurt) and Coleman has a lot of flex upside himself, especially with Gordon out. I'd be willing to substitute Crabtree for Jones if you really don't want any Lions though. I picked up Crabtree the same round you grabbed Gordon, but it was after you snagged him.

There are two RBs and at least 1 WR on your bench that I'd unquestionably drop to take on Jones (or Crabtree)/Coleman, and there's at least 1 more WR on your bench (not counting Gordon) that's actually also worth a little less than Coleman. Giving up my WR depth would be a high price for me to offer to get a player who's got the League's most notable Jeremy Liggins problem (Martavis Bryant and Le'Veon Bell aren't far behind though), but I'll pay it because I've liked Josh Gordon ever since he burst onto the scene and onto my fantasy roster in 2013. I really like my top 3 WRs, so I'm cool with giving up depth to take on the risk of Josh Gordon. By giving me Gordon, Jones/Crabtree would replace Gordon as your WR4 and Coleman would be slightly ahead of Funchess as your WR5 in my eyes, and certainly ahead of Wheaton. I'd think that's a solid level of WR depth that gives you better Alshon insurance than Gordon alone gives you. For me to part with an RB though, I'd want more than just Gordon since RB is more valuable and scarce than WR, and all my RBs except Sims are considered more valuable than Gordon (partly because none of them are facing a four game suspension).

I'm not giving up Landry for that haha. I think something can be done though for sure. Realist just accepted my Jones/Coleman offer thooooo! So yeah. I'm definitely open to trading Sims to you. I wanted to make sure he was still there for me to offer him to you because I didn't want to have overlapping players complicate formal trade offers. I got Gordon at a hefty price, but now I can make a ton of jokes, which in and of itself is worth it. I'll shoot you a counter when I get home though.

This brings up another topic I was wondering: should we negotiate trades openly on this board or should we do it over email? Realist and Whistlin, did y'all get the emails I sent through ESPN? And if so, did y'all get them on ESPN or in your normal email inbox?

I sent you a counter offer that you shouldn't accept. In my rejection of your offer, I wrote a novella about some different options we have. All of my players outside of David Johnson, AJ Green, and (now) Josh Gordon are on the block. I'm not sure if you have any starters you could sell or if you're just looking to swap bench depth for bench depth, or somewhere in between haha.

My trade to get Gordon doesn't process until around 7 PM (Central) on the 3rd, so my team is a little tied up until Saturday night. I'm still down to make a deal before then, and certainly between now and September 8th.

ETA: You'd already rejected it before I finished this post

Which 3 player scenario? The counter offer I gave you was never meant to be a serious offer, but I also presented at least two scenarios for Zeke in my initial rejection and am willing to explore that further because I think having Zeke could be really fun. I'm not sure if the commentary on my rejection got emailed to you or what though since ESPN has changed up their interface a bit. One of the options gave you a starting RB and WR (in fantasy terms, not starting for their team) and the other gave you a better starting WR and a lesser RB. I have a third offer potentially in mind, but I'm not sure if I'd wanna do that for Zeke and a TE. Both offers included Sims as a freebie third player of sorts so that you won't have anything to worry about with Doug Martin. Since I already have Sims, I'm cool with exploring some ideas for me to get Doug Martin instead of Zeke too. Getting Zeke or Martin is also pretty low risk for me as long as David Johnson is who I think he is. I like Hyde a lot as my RB2, especially his potential ceiling, but you definintely have some intriguing RBs, and I feel like I've got some comfortable depth at both WR and RB to explore some options. If you want some of my WRs after Green or my RBs after Johnson, I'm definitely looking more at one of your two starting RBs. Fwiw, since Romo is out and teams will stack the box unless Dak makes them respect him, I view Zeke as having some risk considering he's a rookie RB. Gurley was in a similar situation last year with a worse supporting cast around him, but I'd also take Gurley over Zeke in a vaccuum 1000% of the time. Gurley is a generational talent to me, whereas Zeke seems like he'll be a very good player who landed in a better situation than Gurley.

As long as it seems like a fair enough trade or a trade where I like taking a risk on a lottery ticket, I'm open for damn near anything. I've already said which 3 players of mine are untouchable, and everything else is negotiable.
