What if the SEC and the Big12 were to merge and leave the NCAA? Players get paid, no more bowl game raping of colleges, no more ridiculous politically correct enforcement. We play an 8 game playoff. FSU, Clemson, NC State, Va Tech would immediately flock to us. We would get all the best recruits when they realize they get a healthy stipend etc. It would be the end of the NCAA.

I have nowhere near the knowledge to know if it is possible, but its close to what I had thought of. Has to be some type of catch somewhere

I bet you Ole Miss would be for it, if for no other reason, than to stick it to the NCAA.

The catch is member schools get all the benefits without having to pay players. So why would they want to bust up the status quo?

I want Bjork gone tomorrow. He should have been shown the door when he threatened to fight that State fan on twitter.

I have been following Ole Miss football for over 30 years also. You know it was all hunky dory when other schools could keep recruits off our campus by talking us up as a bunch of racists. But funny thing happened, CHF was able to get those kids onto campus and when they arrived they liked what they saw, they liked the way they were treated by the staff and evidently they liked the way they were treated by fellow students and those who live in Oxford.

Nobody was able to do that until Hugh Freeze did it. He did it when he was working with Coach O and he came back and did it again.

I think all of you are kidding yourselves if you think Ole Miss is doing something more than any of the other schools. What the other schools want to do is put Ole Miss back in it's created natural position.

Change is hard, those of us who worked to make those changes at Ole Miss know this all too well. Trying to get Old timers to give up their flag, their songs and the misconception that those represented the beliefs of what our university stood for has been difficult to say the least.

Then you have those from other schools deem us as sell outs and communist, because we being well educated and not ignorant of how hate creates an unfavorable environment demanded change.

Ole Miss had a bad season, it's hard to change your coaching staff after winning the Sugar Bowl for the first time in 46 years, but it needed to be done last season.

He gave his staff an opportunity to prove themselves and they failed. He moved forward and made the necessary changes. Nobody is beating Bama with a bunch of coached up 3 star talent, and CHF has done it with less talent than anyone else.

There in lies the problem. CHF is rocking the status quo and it scares the powers that be. Bama got rid of their D-line coach for violations worse than any of the coaches at Ole Miss, but you didn't hear anyone talking that up on the news. Cause Bama doesn't cheat.

The NCAA has spent nearly 4 years on campus looking for the bag men and the only thing they got, was exactly what was reported to them by Ole Miss' own internal investigation. And maybe an admission from a player who watched his draft stock plummet, when an ill timed video was released. Oh, damn a player had to ask for 350 dollars to pay the electric bill. Sounds like Ole Miss is paying out big money for players. The NCAA is even gone as far as to ask players from other schools about their recruitment by Ole Miss. Hey state, CJ Johnson might have a thing or two to tell the NCAA about his recruitment.

Ole Miss will be fine bouncing around at 8-4 and 10-2. What all you haters know, is if he hangs around long enough he will get the depth that might take him over the top.

This is why the negativity and the hate toward CHF. It's got nothing to do with cheating or being a Christian, it's all about those Wal Mart fans and holier than though schools who will do whatever it takes to win.

Bama expects a NC run every year. Ole Miss doesn't, but if it did happen for many in the SEC it would be the end of the world.

Be afraid SEC, cause if all the NCAA can stick to Ole Miss after 4 years is some scholarships reductions and a one year bowl ban, CHF wins and the rest will have to live with the results.

Once you take away all the money that gets paid to the bowls and the NCAA, the schools would achieve a net gain even with paying players.

Well said. Anyone that wants to get rid of Hugh after what he has shown and the hole he brought us out of. This season wasn't fun but the previous 4 were the best seasons I've ever had ad an Ole Miss fan.

I mean as an atheist (I'm pretty sure I'm one the very few in our entire fanbase ) I hate how much Freeze brings religion into football but from reading that article it sounds like that the NCAA looming over us still is really the main thing that is keeping recruits from coming to Ole Miss, not his weird christian statements.

I am another atheist within our fan base. Freeze being religious doesn't bother me in the slightest. I just don't care. I don't want anyone to care that I don't believe, so why should I care if others choose to.
