1. What OC that would be considered a great hire would leave a job to come to one with what could be severe ramifications from the NCAA?

2. What great player is going to totally ignore the fact that OM could be punished severely causing them to miss playing in a bowl or a chance at a NC.

3.I can agree with that.

I am soooo ready for the the exact violations to be spelled out in black and white so we can all read them to the letter. Let's just get it over with. I'm still hearing about all these violations from the enemy camp, yet not much at all in the way of specifics. They don't know and we don't now. I'm almost at the point now to where I think and they think we get punished just because we "deserve" to get punished and yet nobody really knows what for to any certain extent. It's all quite comical honestly. One thing is flat for certain, the current state of affairs is fricking us up pretty damn good. Lastly, sue the NCAA. Let's be the first. See how it plays out. Would make a great 30 For 30.

I'm not necessarily blaming Freeze for this current state of affairs (at least not until we see something concrete against him from the NCAA).

But, fair or not, when a program stalls the coach usually takes the fall. People aren't interested in excuses when a coach is making millions

Why so much angst about a bowl game.

In the 5 SEC bowl games thus far, not a single SEC team wanted to be there. They just wanted the swag, which they get every home game anyway.

Really? Well if you have proof please bring it. Obviously if the NCAA had it they would whip it out and we would be punished. NOOO they are just sitting on the investigation because they don't have anything other than we beat Bama twice. Saban and Mark Emmert have been in bed with each other since LSU

Looks like Hugh got a little wine drunk and posted on the rant again. Y'all should really just ban the double bottles in Oxford so this doesn't happen.

I agree with the folks saying, "Who else would we hire?" School pride is great, but let's take a step back and take a practical look at our program history. Ole Miss FB is not associated with elite, year-to-year performance. We are an underdog. Freeze changed a lot of our expectations and showed us it is possible for OM football to compete with the best, but unfortunately this year the team came up short and left a sour taste. Losing out on Akers was icing on a shite cake. I hate to be all symbolic, but this is adversity for Freeze and Co. I understand the NCAA thing is a drag, but I think you have to go all-in on Freeze at this point. Give him 2 more years. What does he need to accomplish? I think that's open for big debate. I'd say he needs at least another 9-win regular season within 2 years to keep his job security. Note I am saying minimum requirement.

There's certainly some potential on the offense, and hopefully the coordinator adjustment will help. I mean the offense can be scary good. Defense we'll just have to wait and see. Obviously there are some areas that need overhaul, but I believe some of those guys have potential to do great things. Jalen Julius, for one, I am excited for his future. Dude got thrown into the fire against FSU and had to grow up fast. Young guys like Anderson and Hartsfield got experience this year. Victor Evans showed some burst off of the line. We have some leaders in Gates and Haynes returning. I see Benito Jones taking on a leadership role soon. I'm curious to see if Speaks will rebound.

Just a shitty 2016 for OM football and hopefully they will right the ship. Getting some good recruits would have helped, but all in all the year is looking like a total wash. I think Hugh can afford one, but not much more.

However, saying Freeze has to win a minimum of 9 games one of the next two seasons is a colossal overreaction. We didn't always get that when things seemed perfect. I'd be completely happy with a 6 or 7 win season and at most an 8. And these are counting bowl wins (if they allow us in a bowl) and wins period over just the teams we should beat. No upsets whatsoever. I guess my expectations are low, but some of y'all set yourself up for the fall way too much. Either you have never experienced year after of Ole Miss football "back in the day" or you just started paying attention.

It's a natural reaction. You see it all the time when coaches lift a program to a higher level of success, but when they don't go beyond that they take a fall. I used to feel sorry for them, but then they started making multimillions per year so I don't any more

When your average SEC coach is making over 4 mil a year, you are expected to keep the program moving forward, or your gone.

"Moving forward" is a very relative term. In terms of just wins, Ole Miss is close to maxed out when they get to 8 or 9 wins considering we play in the SEC West. In fact, dropping back even 2 or 3 years to 6 or 7 wins might be quite a feat depending on how recruiting, injuries, and some of the opposition vary from year to year.

It is, but even with our injuries this year it's hard to argue we moved forward this year. And yes the NCAA stuff hurts us, but unfortunately the blame lies on the boss, whether his fault or not.

This is in no way saying fire Freeze, but he way under-performed this year

So Bama should fire Saban any year they don't win a title? OSU should fire Urban? There are going to be setbacks.

It will never happen, but it would be awesome if some schools would gang up and go on strike against the NCAA. The way they have treated our investigation is ridiculous. Then you have the million other things they do horribly. Too bad the SEC cant break away from them somehow
