Josh Peter of USA Today reported Thursday that a family associate named Paul Price and Fournette's parents had set up a website to sell merchandise and build the prodigy's brand before he even set foot on the college gridiron.

According to Fournette's mother, Lory, the website shut down approximately 24 hours after it launched ahead of LSU's 2014 season opener once the NCAA learned of its existence. "There's certain rules that just can't be broken," she said.

But the damage may have already been done, since the website was selling T-shirts and hats that stood to capitalize on Fournette's name, image or likeness—which is a direct NCAA violation.

Lory Fournette described Price as a family manager who reportedly paid $10,000 for the website to be built. Three companies that were supplying the Fournette team with merchandise offered a total discount of $20,000 in anticipation of a huge profit that never materialized.

Furthermore, IWD Agency owner Joe McFerrin indicated Price never paid back an owed amount of $14,682. McFerrin developed the website, and both he and merchandise creator Chris Hanley stated Price had cleared the project with the NCAA.

No one gets the Tunsil treatment. He didn't hear his punishment until six weeks into the season. Unbelievable.

A three week suspension of Fournette would be fine in my book lol.....but unfortunately we get to play roided up QB's who are suspended AFTER playing us....so I don't expect much to come of this

The investigation will take place after the season. And he will then be deemed ineligible for his junior season.

Which lsu and fournette will acted outraged for..
But then fournette gets to sit out and remain healthy for the 2017 NFL draft as the number 1 pick.

So did Fournette receive any benefits from the sell of the merchandise?

Are you asking if LF received money from this site? If anyone knew that it wouldn't even be a question if he were to be in trouble. What are you asking?

Nothing will come of this though. There's no way to prove LF knew about it and profitted from it. Same deal as Cam. LSU won't force the mother to turn over her financials like OM forced Cannon to do, so without a paper trail there is no way to prove LF received anything.

His family got a discount for the website so that is extra cause the website we build around him.. If NCAA don't sit him out its bs.

The rule reads player or family members. Remember what happened to Reggie Bush.

Fireman is correct, the family got a discount and still owes over $14,000 in unpaid debt to the company. If they got Tunsil for a couple thousand of unpaid dollars they can surely get Fournette.

Well I guess they couldn't actually force them to, but the NCAA told OM that Cannon was not cooperating, OM then asked Cannon to give the NCAA what they were asking for and they did.

From what I can recall, the NCAA asked for information and they just gave it to them. I'm guessing Ole Miss told Cannon to cooperate or they would be cutting ties

My un favorable opinion of Cannon has diminished a little with that information.

Knowing they didn't give it up without ole miss asking them to.

I have heard the exact same thing....I hear Ole Miss did not ask nicely for Canon to turn info over....this was after Canon told NCAA to go blow itself.

Nothing will happen to Fournette. This'll be cleared up ASAP. SEC treats it's blue blood schools well.

Look at the Skal deal. Dude was cleared right before the season. Tunsil? Didn't find out until halfway through the season.

Fournette is a star. The NCAA is a business. They won't suspend him.
