These letters are considered "eyewash for NCAA." It's part of our agreed-upon punishment.

If Cam Akers asks me for a ride to the Bama game, do you think I'm gonna say no?

Yep. Probably written in the response as something along the lines of "providing further education and awareness"

I've always wondered this situation if a recruit from your home town or what not needs a ride a ride to a game and you've known the kid his whole life and have done things for him in the past will you get in trouble if your a booster? Say it's your sons best friend or daughters boyfriend?

I'm pretty sure you have to know the recruit before high school but not 100%. These letters are just part of the way the school can separate it's self from things like Miller getting $800 from a booster. They are doing their part of to educate boosters.

FWIW, a lot of schools send out these. Had a "booster rules" sheet with my family's LSU season tix.
